    Socks

Odd topic, but what type of ski socks do people wear these days. Any stand outs? Any particluar brand stepping up?

Specifically looking at quality & longevity vs. price.

I like the socks from Sessions cause they remind me which foot is my left and which is my right

I have always just worn normal Hanes socks when skiing. For some reason they have always worked great for me without any problems with cold. I'm not cheap as I have Smartwool hikers and mountaineering socks for those purposes but I find that a nice thin sock just seems to work good for me.

I like Smartwool ultralight ski socks too. One dude told me one time that he wears only panty hose, but that sounds a little strange....

I start off with the ultralights, and as my liners get more packed out end up moving to thicker socks. Smartwool's good, and I like Eurosock as well.

Yeh, Smartwool too. Ultralight to Lightweight to Medium. STP.
My wife raves about, and will only wear Neoprene socks now, from Campmor.
Bridgedale make some cool ski socks too. Also on STP.

    Best of all ?
Well, if you know anyone in the UK, get them to send you some ski-socks from Marks&Spencer (labeled ViewFrom). They totally rock !
But make sure not to get the ones with cotton in.

Definately Smartwool Ultralight. I've found that the thinner, the better. Since I switched to those I haven't had a problem with cold feet.

I love my smartwools. Lightyears ahead of the other socks I had before.

My feets get plenty hot. I go with Smart wool liners w/no additional socks.
Damn, we're in a tight spot!

I have both some Falke and X-socks. They both rock... but the Falke is a bit more comfy.

I use and recommend Coolmax liner socks from REI or wherever. Should cost about $4-$5.

I believe this is the second-thinnest sock you can get. (Silk is thinner, but doesn't stay up as well, stretch as well, or dry nearly as fast.)
