Two New Books Confirm Global Warming is Natural; Not Caused By Human Activity

    Drudge Report | January 31, 2007

Two powerful new books say today's global warming is due not to human activity but primarily to a long, moderate solar-linked cycle. Unstoppable Global Warming Every 1500 Years, by physicist Fred Singer and economist Dennis Avery was released just before Christmas. The Chilling Stars: A New Theory of Climate Change, by Danish physicist Henrik Svensmark and former BBC science writer Nigel Calder (Icon Books), is due out in March.

Singer and Avery note that most of the earth's recent warming occurred before 1940, and thus before much human-emitted CO2. Moreover, physical evidence shows 600 moderate warmings in the earth's last million years. The evidence ranges from ancient Nile flood records, Chinese court documents and Roman wine grapes to modern spectral analysis of polar ice cores, deep seabed sediments, and layered cave stalagmites.

Unstoppable Global Warming shows the earth's temperatures following variations in solar intensity through centuries of sunspot records, and finds cycles of sun-linked isotopes in ice and tree rings. The book cites the work of Svensmark, who says cosmic rays vary the earth's temperatures by creating more or fewer of the low, wet clouds that cool the earth. It notes that global climate models can't accurately register cloud effects.

The Chilling Stars relates how Svensmark's team mimicked the chemistry of earth's atmosphere, by putting realistic mixtures of atmospheric gases into a large reaction chamber, with ultraviolet light as a stand-in for the sun. When they turned on the UV, microscopic droplets—cloud seeds—started floating through the chamber.

“We were amazed by the speed and efficiency with which the electrons [generated by cosmic rays] do their work of creating the building blocks for the cloud condensation nuclei,” says Svensmark.

The Chilling Stars documents how cosmic rays amplify small changes in the sun's irradiance fourfold, creating 1-2 degree C cycles in earth's temperatures: Cosmic rays continually slam into the earth's atmosphere from outer space, creating ion clusters that become seeds for small droplets of water and sulfuric acid. The droplets then form the low, wet clouds that reflect solar energy back into space. When the sun is more active, it shields the earth from some of the rays, clouds wane, and the planet warms.

Unstoppable Global Warming documents the reality of a moderate, natural, 1500-year climate cycle on the earth. The Chilling Stars explains the why and how.

WTF??? Al Gore is way smarter that these guys.

Only a retard would spend all that time and money making a good ski flick, and then add in some of their own political garbage. Because no matter what your beliefs are, right or wrong, your eliminating half your potential audience in this country. And as stated above, you might even have a chance at turning away part of the half you were counting on in the first place.

And it would take a serious retard to put it in a trailer, or ask about it in a forum.

That being said, they have the right to make whatever they want. Just dont expect to have much money next yr to make another one.

ACTUALLY! I was thinking about this today!

I want to make a film about a young man/or woman who happens to be a skier/snowrider that goes to war for the USA! and perhaps as GWB would want it.........."never come home"

The Eulogy would include a Micheal Franti music bed of "time to go home" & a taped/filmed final run before they are leaving to a headlong massacre....

You weren't "just turned onto" a new site. The "@thelevitationproject" email address is a dead giveaway.

I don't mind the spam, but don't try to be sneaky about it.

I thnk their theory is that even bad publicity is still publicity. Let's let their threads die.

Yeah they pulled this same spam shit a year or so ago, but I don't think the levitation project ever really got off the ground (shameless pun).

Wow. The Spelling Bee champ makes an excellent point here. Promoting peace - peace in living, peace with nature and peace with your soul is the real point of why we do what we do in the first place. AKPM is right on here.

I think you guys are lame for not just coming on here as yourselves. Why be weirdo production company lurkers. Just ask people what they think of your shit.

Well, I don't know about everyone else here but I personally think there needs to be way more politics in ski movies. There needs to be way more politics in everything!

    Guesswho1 = total spam-a-douche.

Point one: everything you do is political. Everything.

Point two: people who buy into a global warming theory rebuke put forth by an economist are either in denial or they're just idiots.

you're a fucking 'tard. first of all, what battle have the coalition forces engaged in that could even loosely be termed a draw? Secondly, what line of logic could possibly lend you to thin that any single person in this administration would remotely want any of our soldiers to not "return home?".

jesus christ, man. You're against the war. that's fine, it is your right. that post is ridiculous.

Would any utards really expect them not to spam?? Theirs is the most sighted hot pink sticker of a levitating guy around. Those things are so common it sort of bugs me. And last year I had to literally scrape one of their April Fools flyers off my windshield after it was glued on by melting snow while my car rested at the parknride.

Back to the video... It took me awhile to get to the trailer after clicking guesswho's link because I was mesmerized by the action footage in the levitating man. Good stuff.
On to the trailer... I couldn't wait for it to end. Just when I thought it was going to, because the red bar had fully crossed the screen, it kept going. It was horrible. Then finally the same action footage. Super powder shots and big cliffs and long lines and more powder. That footage is so good.
I will probably return to that site, but never again venture past the front page.

I think politicians are worthless bags of greedy shit. The trailer for that was kind of lame...to long and played out. Ten years ago when I was that age, I would have been all for making a film like that, but wouldn't spend so much time with beat antics featuring like GW and Bin Laden. Having said this, the skiing, riding, and tele'ing we finally get to see was definitely eye candy. I guess what I'm saying is keep anything not directly ski related short and sweet - as far as a ski film goes.

1ST.Im stoked that you "Mrgyptian" "quoted" my beaner ass... I have always nodded silently at your banter.

But not today ( actually -yesterday- as it has taken me a few days to recover from my fantastic SB binge weekend)

    I realized that I should
at least rebut the fact that even though I look tarded thank god - or as you might prefer (GOD) I don't. I'm only tarded on days that I get up late....

Secondly you should know that if I was a tarded republican like you, there might be a problem because I don't live in fantasy world anymore!

I have two boys, that at this rate, will some day have to "represent" the USA in a war for a Republican Agenda that will have nothing to do with your freedom.

I think about these all the time. LIFE IS SHORT!

    these are the things!!!!

my boys are 2-5! that's less than 13 years for my first born till he/ will pick up a fucking weapon and be indoctrinated to kill... and I'm all for it!if its right

From the way I see it Mr Gyptian. you think that I should concur with some asshole that has no other way of satiating his supporters/fuckhim I didntvoteforhim
    call me on it!

    get over your self dude

be happy you are not dodging bullets and you are sitting in a Posh (PORT OUT STARBOARD HOME) situation, im so tarded!!!

I will proudly defend my country. Tarded I'm... not maybe sometimes

maybe I should go to war!

holy shit what a great idea!!

maybe we should sweep the streets and pull in all the homeless and throw them out there..........fodder!!

    fuking awesome

I hate the the replay button
