    Hell....freezing....over....

But hey, If Mervin got away with it without 'core' backlash, then Burton will kill it. I hope they make some sweet, fat, light, semi-stiff touring BC planks, with Dynafit's, just 'cause I get Burton pro-form!

but it will mark the first time a snowboard company has made twin planks.
I guess the Outside expert has never heard of Prior? Never Summer pressing for Icelantic? Palmer launching their ski line a couple months ago... Maybe Burton is gonna do it - but the guy who wrote the little blurb clearly is clueless about the industry...

Not to speak of Peter Bauer's Amplid (those ski's rock, I guess the snowboards do as well). Clueless is indeed the word that comes to mind..

Big Fucking Deal - Burton is no longer a "snowboard company" anyway...They are a "lifestyle company"...If you visit their shop in SoHo you'll understand.

I wonder if they'll make it so that their skis can only be mounted with Burton bindings like they do with the boards?

Can't you get mounting plates that fit the Burton 3D pattern for just about any binding? You could 6 years ago when I was still snowboarding. Sorry if that's no longer true.

I think this is just pure bullshit. But who knows, if they will be making money they might do it.

every other manufacturer has to pay burton to make those discs available. if you have a burton and another brand of board, and one set of bindings to swap between the two, you have to carry around extra discs...the rest of the world uses 4x4 mounting...burton is just annoying

Wasn't Burton the company that ran full page ads that pretty much attacked skiing? I seem to remember them making the claim that snowboarding basically saved skiing... Anyone else remember this?

I know Option has 2 engineers and one engineering intern working on their designs and quality control at their factory in Van.

because the fame went to his head like sting/bono/madonna etc.
his name is Jake Burton Carpenter and it has been years since they did anything original in snowboarding...and if the Outside expert is who it think he is (i won't go to the clip...) he is closely related to bozo the clown and basically turns ad copy into "the greatest new gear articles..."

I dont want to talk bad about a company or anything, but I think you should also be informed about rumors concerning it.
some words about amplid, as it is a german company I somehow got interrested. (me beeing german)
the whole thing went up in germany with a very big marketing effort (product test in the german skiing, skis beeing super super fine, next 3 pages commercials of amplid )... the guys mentioned (peter bauer, anian thrainer, teddy berr) were introduced as the founder, creater and everything of amplid. it turned out, they didnt do much, used burton knowledge and money to push it, the skis were/are? mainly produced in a spanis rossi factory. a great marketing thing, in my opinion.

and besides, I rode this years amplid skis, I wasnt convinced at all to say it mildly.
This is how you talk when you learn English from pornos.

In other news....No one gives a flying fuck. Snowboarding is done.

Maybe it saved skiing, but it sure seems like it is quickly becoming irrelevant.

Snowboarding didn't save skiing, but we did bring you the fat ski which helped you guys out there plowing up powder fields like you planting corn to float just a little.
Here is why snowboarding will never die, because snowboards are the ultimate powder tool. You will never be able to float in powder on skis the way you can on a snowboard. I like skiing, but there is nothing in sports as sweet as making pow turns on steep terrain on a snowboard, try it you'll like it.

Rootskier I just sent you a PM with a really good contact in the restaraunt/burrito bus and you go and ay something like that, you're on your own now man.
