Hillary announced she is running today...shocker.

I love Hillary and the Clintons, but I have NO faith in the US population. If she or Obama get the nod to run, there is no chance that middle america will put a woman or a non-whitey in the house. I hope the Dems realize there is no way people are ready for that...I mean, 50% voted for Bush based on religion and fear while soldiers were getting slaughetered...

Unfortunately this is the "Truth". Middle America has decided that the Repubes are Gods party and will vote with them regardless of how bad they have fucked things up. IMO the south has too many racist and sexist people for a minority and/or woman to win the Whitehouse. Its the sad truth. I hope I'm wrong about all of this.

I think Hillary Clinton is unelectable. There's no way in fucking hell that this mostly conservative country is going to vote for the person whose husband was impeached for getting a blowjob from an employee as the first Female POTUS. No way in hell.

She might make a good Veep.

If McCain runs and Hillary gets the nod this could be a very very very bad defeat for the Democrats in 2008.

We're so far off course I think a woman President would be good for the country; not necessarily Hillary.. Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton covering more than 20 years history. It's not right. I can understand that a truly worthy and great candidate (Warren Buffet maybe?) would never want to be President.

On another note, is a guy named Barack Hussein Obama electable in middle America? I don't think the problem is necessarily that he is black, I think Colin Powell would be very electable, the problem is his Muslim sounding name. Personally, I would like to see Giuliani gut her on a national stage. He missed his chance a couple of years ago. We wouldn't even be talking about her right now if he hadn't gotten cancer.

I wish I could link SportsGuy's 13 levels of losing. Because when Hillary runs and loses it will be historic. For pure enjoyment I'd like to see Jeb Bush vanquish Hillary. It would be a great match up of legacy politicians.

I disagree. 3 years ago I would have agreed with you, but not anymore. Sure there is a staunch republican and a hypocrite right-wing conservative base out there, but I believe the moderates that blindly fell followed them are regaining their sight. Their vision isn't 20/20 yet but I think the people are sick of how the spend happy republicans decided being in debt is a much better way to run the economy. Just look at the recent election. They were soundly bitch slapped right out of office.

Now even the republicans and hypocritcal right-wing conservatives are actually considering supporting McCain when just six years age they were calling him a war criminal and traitor.

That she is a woman is the least of my concerns. I don't like that she wants to socialize medicine. I also don't like the way she talks down to people. She is not a good condidate, and the Dems should recognize.
