Ozzfest 2005 - bands and dates announced!

OK, so they were announced a few weeks ago, but no one here has mentioned anything about it yet. Check out the main site for all the bands/details: ozzfest.com:

"Ozzfest 2005 with Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Rob Zombie, Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall, Black Label Society. The Hot Topic Second Stage will be headlined by ZOMBIE and feature a preview of rock's rising stars, including As I Lay Dying, Mastodon, The Haunted, In Flames, Arch Enemy, The Black Dahlia Murder, Bury Your Dead, Soilwork, Trivium, It Dies Today, A Dozen Furies and more."

I'm pretty stoked to see In Flames and Soilwork. Rob Zombie and Iron Maiden....not so much.

Anyone else going? I'll be at the Boston show...

You might want to check on this to make sure, but I have heard that Velvet Revolver is replacing Iron Maiden on the last seven dates of the tour.

If Iron Maiden doesn't play, then I'm not gonna go. Sure, it'd be cool to see Black Sabbath and Black Label Society is cool enough (Zakk needs to lay off the whammy bar a bit), but FKNA IRON MAIDEN!!!!!! Scream for me Auburn! SCREAM FOR ME AUBURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The rest of those bands? Yawn.

I went to Ozzfest a few years ago. It was off the hook! I remember Ozzy, however, I was drunk when I arrived, so I don't really remember anything between getting the first few beers at the show and when Ozzy came on stage. heh.

Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson said, “This summer’s Maiden touring is based on the recent Early Days DVD and all the songs we do at Ozzfest will be from our first four albums--Iron Maiden, Killers, Number of the Beast and Piece of Mind. We will be bringing over our full European show, naturally including as special guest Eddie in various appropriate guises!! The stage sets, production and backdrops will recreate aspects of the shows on the tours around those albums--only bigger…much bigger!!! We don’t know if anyone has done anything like this before but we think it’s something the fans will really appreciate both in the choice of songs and in the production values.”
