    Snowing and blowing. Both hard.
This town is a mess with the tourists who cannot drive.

    I love it.

ZiB 2 on ORF just reported 70cm in the Arlberg region. The headline was:

    "Endlich Schnee!"

This thread has come to life again, I wonder who gets post #2000 ...

very nice day with mulletizer and gavin. some 50-100 new snow, depending by the area. despite the very nasty lines to get the savoleyres lift, there was enough to track and- most of all - such a nice group of mags to ski with to make this day one to remember for long time.

you people need to change flights at stanstead. spent many a night and day there, ah the memories...

and today was nice. finished work in skischool with my little whiny, snotty nosed brats that refuse to snowplow nicely just in time for the weather to clear up.

    Kühtai:

don't be fooled, this guy is about to hit a rock and eat shit. i was entertained...

still bony and very sketchy snow at the moment, but we're getting there.

I am going to Verbier in a few days. have not been back for 2 winters after spending 9 years there. Looking forward to it to say the least.

Good dump in Cham too. Aig Rouge station at Lac Blanc only showing 20 new (from 20 to 40 yesterday to 35 today- must have got blown up there)

Skied Le Tour yesterday, only bottom gondola open in the morning but some good off piste far skiers left, traversing behind midstation. Today the joys of being at work while imagining the rather awesome conditions up there were all mine.

By the way, my flatmate today was involved in an avie search and rescue operation just under the top of the Bochard gondola station in GM. Said it was just next to the run and they took a while to get the guy out. Looked bad. No transceiver.... anyone know any more about this?

It's reported on www.pistehors.com but not much detail yet. Sounds like the victim is alive at least. Also sounds like there are some pretty nasty avie conditions around so be safe fellow Euros!

Even Obertauern with its lack of vertical was sick today. Waist-deep powder all to myself all day long, hooray for windblown snow accumulation. First faceshots of 07 - woohoo!

My brother is slaving in the office in London and my mom was skiing with my dad so the usual photosluts/photographers were unavailable. The light was bad anyway.

Kitzsteinhorn tomorrow, then back home, then off to Syria on Friday.

Powslut is not a happy man according to a text message ... I hope he has some skis to shred Austrian powder!

EDIT: just saw Powslut's message above.

klar, Stansted is even worse. Ask my brother. His flight to Salzburg on December 21 was delayed, then redirected to Vienna. Then his bus to Salzburg was delayed ... City-boys shouldn't fly with Ryanair anyway.

EDIT EDIT: klar, seems like you had much better weather. It was a white out almost all day.
