Back in 92, i was riding home from campus, I had a clinton and a bush sign in my pack, picked em up to put in our apartment, i guess the Bush sign was exposed, and someone threw a rock out of a car at me. Took me out.

I didnt even care about the election back then.

Some political machines are taking advantage of the auto-call hate. If you hang up soon after the recording starts, you they were designed to make you think it came from the OTHER party/candidate.
"Vote party X...blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...brou ght to you by party Y."

    Sneaky.

The problem is all the major candidates are doing this so it's not like I can punish someone by voting for someone who would defeat them. This election year has just made me even more depressed about the political leadership in this country.
Good runs when you get them.

I once had a state assembly candidate come to my door. He gave me a flyer and started to walk away. I stopped him and said if he wanted my vote he'd better answer some questions. He didn't answer the questions and the responsed he did give were crap and not what I was hoping to hear. He didn't get my vote.

    Robert Deniro for Hillary
    Bill Clinton for ????

Plus I got a Saturday visit from one State Senator's flackies.

Enough already! Do people really change their mind based on a recorded phone message for a celebrity?
Seconded. My wife and I belong to different political parties so we get it from both sides. Bill Clinton has called us so many times you'd think we were long lost friends (prop 87 in CA). What really sucks is political calls are exempt from the "do not call" list regulations (little wonder there eh?). And to answer you question, yes, I honestly believe there are enough gullible people that fall for it or they wouldn't keep doing it.

Political signs? Collect them. Have party. Distribute them back to the campaign offices. Burn them. Wrap mannequins with them. Pave streets with them and find out what driving on wet cardboard is like. Take them bowling. Take them shopping. Order fast food with a variety on your shoulder. Take the opportunity, folks.
