The most sickening, un-American act I've heard of in a while (NSR, Political)

I am not a very polical guy, nor do I think that a skiing message board needs any more political spew on it (especially not on the Ski/Snowboard forum, therefore I posted this here, where it's a bit more hidden). However, this story pissed me off.

I read about Ken Blackwell, the Ohio Secretary of State, recent action in a news article on a website for a Democratic voter registration activist's site called ACT .

The gist of the article said that a different Democratic-oriented voter registration organization signed up several tens of thousands of new voters in Ohio. Of course, the new voters were overwhelmingly Democrats. Using an arcane law, Mr. Blackwell (a Republican), threatened to reject the new registrations because the registration cards were printed on the wrong type of paper.

I thought this was just something made up by some left-winged political yahoos until I heard about this on the radio. I did a search on the internet and found out it was also reported by The Dayton Daily News. Apparently the New York Times has a blurb on him, too.

This sort of political B.S. sickens me. What an f'ing bastard.

I've forgotten the details and am too lazy to search for it and post a link, however NPR reported the "improper card stock voter registration" story along with a story about how the Republicans are trying to get Ralph Nader on the ballet in OH, while the Democrats are trying to keep him off. Nader was rejected from OH the ballet due to some fine print in OH voting laws about signitures.

Nader could be to Kerry now what Perot was to Bush, the first, was in '00.

Oh yea, the padded room does seem like a more appropriate place for political B.S.

I've also recently read that many US nationals who are abroad and not in the military are having problems getting absentee ballots. Hmmm..

Roo- it still is. It's just typical of you English-types to assume that we're equal, even though you're one of them lowly Brits. When we Americans assume we're superior, it's not because we have big egos, little refinement, a narrow world view, or are plain-old lummoxy, we're just truthful.

As a red-blooded, semi-redneck Yankee, I'm not sure what is a more pejorative adjective - "un-American" or "British."
