yeah, movement and g3 have been building their skis down there for a while. i mean, half the skis these days are made in china, why not give the brothers down in africa some ski making jobs too?

Sfotex - do you realize you wrote your six hundred and sixty-sixth post 2 days ago? In a thread about a ski, most of which have been recalled? Spooky

Production was moved to Tunisia and Slovakia, different models spread across the two places. The factory in Tunisia is pretty cool, interesting place to make skis for sure. Don't worry about where they are being made, 4FRNT knows what they are doing...
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

^Yeah some are in the G3 and some are being made by Elan. Actually I am pretty sure Elan runs both factories. All the skis turned out WAY better this year than those made by Option last year. All of them except the mad camber 193s I guess.

The 193s at Sierra will be $799 and occasionally on sale. You can get them for at least 10% off of that on the sierraskis.com website and get free shipping.

The skis are being produced by Elan. Which means construction quality should be significantly better than last year (aside from the camber snafu).

Oh and just one more qualifier: Squads are definitely a better hard snow ski. The 193's will get you to the base on groomers/hardpack alive, much more securely than a Spat or similar ski, but a traditional sidecut is still better in those situations.

I just looked at these and they are sexy! Seems kind of like the poontoon concept, but with a stiffer ski.

You officially have the best powder quiver. Are you going to add anything else soon?

Or, do you want to give me whatever one you like the least?

    heheheheh...

been there, done that. owned iggies back in '98..

would love to hop on a pair and am sure they ski really well, but i'm not a huge fan of the weight of the pairs i've felt.

i think the shoe is on the other foot...maybe i can be the one getting *you* to add some skis to your quiver....
