Sniffing toxic fumes still sounds better than dealing with the mockery that Gear Swap has become.
There are also alot of people here that used to dirtbag it, are now of a means where they don't and dump shit for nothing or next to just to pass it on. I have stuff that I'm willing to dump knowing I have no use for it. You want my AT boots that fit my narrow foot like shit? My old Solly bindings? A bunch of industry purchased (ie super cheap ass) jackets? Come and get them for free. They may be encased in lime jello, but they are cheap.
I don't get it -- are you listing prices and getting lowballed?
Or are you putting up items without prices?
Yeah, it can be annoying, but I've come to expect it.

If you want new gear every year, you have to pay for that privilege. This usually comes in the form of getting jack shit for your used gear. It's a fact of life--if you're selling a one-year-old, lightly used setup and trying to get half what you paid for, you'll be SOL when somebody could buy that exact setup, new, for the price you want. There's such an influx of stuff from manufacturers that simple economics govern the prices: there's lots of older stuff, and people don't want it. Therefore, low prices. You don't like what you're getting? Don't sell it. Selling it because of change in finances? Sorry, but gear is a consumable, not an investment. Maybe next time you'll be smarter and not piss away your child's diaper money on your gear fix.
Someone buy these....
edit: $15,900.00 firm
I really can't bear the 'but I'm a poor student/ski bum/just moved west/help me with my dreams give me a better deal' thing. That's why you're getting a good deal, don't chisel me. You want it or you don't, you can afford it or you can't, everyone is making it on what they have I don't OWE anyone a way better price. Ebay's good because the price is set how it should be... by what someone is willing to pay.
I don't list stuff on gear swap largely due to that but have sold some stuff to guys who've come to me. Come to think of it I lost a couple of emails again. Bridgerbro for one, still available 193 only regular ski.
It's not so much the model year, it's the high mileage or meterage to keep the youth of Canada happy
It's nice to be nice. If I can sell it to a mag dirt cheap, then dirt cheap it is. If I can give it away to a mag for free - then free it is. No problem. BUT don't PM me and plea to me to understand your finance troubles. You want me to understand your "financial situation?" Have a little respect for my situation too.
If it's something I can't take a hit on, or just don't want to be nickel and dimed down on an already cheap price/don't feel like I "owe" giving it away to someone - then eBay or CL it goes. No questions asked.

I once asked a maggot to sell me the skis he had on gear swap - and the dude gave them to me for free. Almost new pair of M103s with binders. Most awesomest thing ever. And he's only posted about 3 times. Frickin' awesome.
they could be yours for $499.99![]()
I'll bid $300 for the kid - never been drilled, right? Will the sidewalls blow out? Can you guarantee that they'll mow the yard and stay out of jail?
I agree with the general premis of the thread, but when you write:

Have you ever noticed no one ever says "grow a fagina"? I think if you could grow one you could sell it for full price.
Living vicariously through myself.
I blame this on Steep And Cheap
Wait for it...
