I’ve had 4 wagons in the last 2 dozen years:
    Subaru Legacy GT
    BMW e91
    BMW F31
    BMW e46

Subaru wasn’t any more reliable than the BMWs, had low power, and had a shitty tranny. A little cheaper on parts.

The e46 and e91 weee smaller and sportier. E91 had better power and amenities. E46 was slower, but more fun to drive fast.

The F31 was faster due to turbo and more luxurious but not that fun to drive.

Out of the 4 I probably liked the e91 for the balance of power/luxury

Finally said fuck it and bought a X3 M40i for the extra room and the HP. Good car, but def not a wagon. Physics doesn’t have an opinion.

Still have my 128i for legal speed fun driving for a while before my kid takes it away to college.

Would love to post a pic.
Finally got the 2001 e46 with s54 M3 engine and MT. 333hp in the donor M3 engine

It’s a go kart. Haven’t had a straight six since my e24 M6. This has almost 45 more hp and weighs a lot less.

If only FedEx hadn’t lost the title. Waiting on a duplicate. Driving on a Texas temp tag for a car bought from MO.

Someday I’ll post a pic of that ever becomes possible.

Heh Bmills, don't get me wrong, I was one of those kids. Took me a while to get over the stink of the 240 vibe but as a proud XC70 owner (imo the spiritual replacement for the 240), I certainly see the appeal. 9 out 10 of my other early millenial bretheren though still don't though. The XC70 does not get nods of approval except from 90 year old professor emeriti. Lucky for me there are lots of them in my hood.

    Yes, this.
I live in Winthrop WA, on gravel and do the the usual outdoors shit. My last six cars were purchased with the sports suspension (lowered), option. I don’t have a wagon right now, so sadly, I have not been posting in this thread.

    Wagon Stoke

BAT had a thing in town this morning. Mrs ::: ::: cleaned up the C30 and we parked it.
Event hosts were local BAT partners.
Lots of fun cars, including a pristine AMC Eagle wagon (!). Three pristine E-types (in storage); white Lambo Countach up on a rack with the engine out on a pallet; a few Lancias; many Alfas; 12cyl cars of various makes, an original owner 240z on original tires, paint, interiors [MSRP was less than $5k], and the usual 911s/M5s/AMGs. A couple track cars. Some pretty gorgeous 1950s porsches. A couple pretty early-70s BMW 3.0CS’s. An Audi 4000s Quattro.

Wagons seen: RS6, E63AMG, 1999 bmw 328 ti manual 5spd ($9500obo), the Eagle, some 70's Datsun, some 70's Subaru, volvo 850R wagon, couple jacked G-wagons, a 74 crew cab dually lowrider silverado camper special (it was immense but felt wagon-y)

I'd share pics but fuck if that's possible

They only made like 8 of those things. Significant parts are unobtanium and will need to be replaced eventually (coolant hoses for example), let alone some drivetrain stuff. But boy oh boy would it be fun while it lasted.

I'm a Saab fanboy and even I wouldn't touch that thing with the awd and V6.

Any mag thoughts on a 2016 3 series 328i xdrive? Supposedly the n20 timing chain problems were fixed by this model year. Got a line on a low mileage one (50kish) for sub 20k.

I had this 2011 wagon xdrive version with MT, and I also had the 2007 version of this exact car, and then I got the 2018 340 xdrive MT. I put anywhere from 140,000 miles to 190,000 miles on them. I had a rear right bearing go in this one, otherwise any problems I had were all maintenance. I drive them really hard. I live on a gravel road, etc.. my daughter is driving the 2018 now and it leaks a little oil so she’s gonna get that fixed.

My Porsche mechanic also does BMW and he told me you have a BMW sell it once it hits 100K miles cuz that's when they shit the bed and that's been kind of true with the many we've had.

Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

I had an F31 (2018 330i) and turned it in after lease was up. Boring compared to E91 and E46 wagons. Functionally fine, just a boring drive. Drive it and see if you like it. If you like it, then keep looking for a 328d or a 330i. Either would likely be more reliable on the same platform than a late stage N20 powered F31 and have better resale value.
