There is so much bullshit hidden in the BBB that some of it will certainly get through--like Iranian missiles. That's the whole point of omnibus bills--attach so much garbage to must pass legislation that finding all of it, let alone fighting all of it, is impossible.
That’s status quo for our government forever and always.

Looks like Byrd Rule might be coming in to play.</p>
The fact that the state of WA and my home state of MT were excluded (looking at the maps) is quite laughable. A bare-faced attempt to buy support, although in the case of these two states they are trying to avoid a larger public outcry against the bill.
It’s not like they had the votes from WA reps anyway, but the MT exclusion does show in-part their politicians fear of that branch of America.
Ducks Unlimited, Rocky Mtn Elk Foundation, and just about any public-land access loving group would shit a brick if their lands in MT and WA were threatened. There’s a special level of environmental jihad you risk with those states…

Those states should still be up in arms over this. If the first sale gets completed as intended there will be MT and WA lands in the next one.
If there is an issue that proves people don't know what the fuck they are voting for this is it.
Too much Joe Rogan. Too much propaganda. It is exasperating.
But now we can hold hands and fight the oligarchs together, at least on this one, easy to see through the bullshit issue. Kumbaya. I turn my purity test meter off.
This is that important.

"Trump Administration to End Protections for 58 Million Acres of National Forests"
Another headache to deal with and figure out how consequential it will or will not be. Gifted article below:

Note that the Byrd rule limits what can make it into Senate Budget Reconciliation bills, so unless Republicans decide to ignore the Senate Parliamentarian and essentially destroy the filibuster, the sale of pkublic lands is out of the bill:
The fifth set of Byrd droppings is out
Dems win on the sale of public lands: Rs may not sell of our public lands!
Other huge victories in this area around making oil and gas leasing, mining, pay-to-play for oil and gas exports, and NEPA compliance
ENR and Senate Budget Dem staff crushed it

On the local news tonight I saw the Lee is trying to reword his add on so that it’s compliant with the Byrd rule. This shit isn’t over! That cock sucker will try everything he can to sell land to his rich buddies. I think he’s trying to limit it to BLM lands now.

BLM within a certain radius of population centers, who knows what that means. These are your front country lands. And, FLPMA already exists for these, maybe that needs a bit of an overhaul to make some of these lands slightly easier to sell if needed, but reconciliation is not the place for it

"If we can't bring the mountain to the party, let's bring the PARTY to the MOUNTAIN!"
It now seems promising that no version of Lee's plan will happen in the BBB.
If anybody forms a group to make a buy, I am in. Would contribute time to the effort as well.
Distraction for the leftists.

Yup. Keep them frothing over every little (and big) proposal, and the left will lose effectiveness in combatting the biggest problem, which is Trump’s impunity.
Forum Cross Pollinator, gratuitously strident
It was a good fire drill IMO. A strongly opposed message from the public was sent, Utah hasn't stopped trying to get federal lands turned over to the state, and who knows what other bullshit is coming down the roads of public lands.
Keep it up, the new language will be out soon and he's still trying. We should be urging them to use the existing methods FLPMA for this instead of through reconciliation.
"If we can't bring the mountain to the party, let's bring the PARTY to the MOUNTAIN!"
Lee pulled it. It’s dead. For now.

As someone who lives almost full time and is planning in "retirement" to live in wilderness, national forest, state and other public lands, yeah I'm pretty stoked on this.
I never thought it would gain anything but abject outrage anyway...
@rideit
A leftist facebook friend just posted up some details in the big and beautiful bill and its WAY worse than losing public lands. I dont know if its true but it would fit the thoughts that theres some elemnts that are there to distract us from the really serious shit he wants to do. Also on facebook Ive seen that the Elon Trump drama is back on social medias. Probably also for the distraction effect I feel.

^RA what your friends claims re the bad shit in the Big Bad Bullshit aka Dumb Debt Debacle?
Re Elno, I think he legitimately thinks that he was supporting ending deficit spending not increasing it, so he's pissing on the bill and Trump is reacting predictably.
