Deflation is still the risk longer term. Now more than ever.

Now more than ever because prices just jumped so much? What's the argument for reversal?

Private equity bidding up sports team prices is another sign of excess. I still don’t see how so many people “afford” season tickets.

We were heading back to trend growth per the Fed. Now throw a wrench in that. GDP now pointing negative. Demographics of asset ownership deteriorating.

The Fed fought deflation for more than a decade. That trend is coming back.

Is the stock market going to tank?

That’s part of what happened eighty seven Fund Companies came into Monday with huge redemption orders.

Dumb as fucking rock. Most of these countries barely have any tariffs to cancel!

Trump is demanding all countries eliminate their trade deficit in goods, not eliminate their tariffs. It is a fucking impossible ask!
Listen - countries like Myanmar and Laos and Cote D’ivoire have been living lives of luxury and just coasting off the sales of XXL t-shirts made in their sweatshops - basically off of America’s good will.

The gravy train ends today. It’s time they start buying Doge Ram dualie trucks and bottles of Jack Daniels.

Fuck you man, I could play games in here based on the personal shit, but I don’t. I’ve shared the best info I get, and I’m not joking when I say I’ve been offered jobs just for that guys email address and phone number. So that everyone can do just a little bit better. And I’ve done that for a decade,

Like my politics or not, I don’t take shit personally, and I never fuck around when it comes to other people’s wallets.

Unlike the dopes spreading their personal angst in here.

Yeah I know right? Fuck the poor people and those poor countries - they deserve this even though it makes literally zero fucking sense. Lesotho? You probably grew up there too but fuck em. They should buy more US made goods with their wealth. Freeloaders.

Let’s tear everything down, get that money, and buy sprinter vans.

And if the US can help prop up Belarus and North Korea at the same time well it’s win-win.

Nah man, a big fuck you! Please take it really fucking personally, because the guy you support is making America and the world poorer through his fucking ignorance even if you somehow manage to profit off this in the long term.

Is the stock market going to tank?

In the mean time we’ll let private equity hang their losses on the sports teams they overpaid for.

Saw a thing where they basically paid up to two billion more than value just to get access to the treatment of losses.

I also appreciate Conos suggestion that we should not talk about what is tanking the stock market in the -is the stock market going to tank?- thread.

Granted, never before has a president ever directly tanked the stock market before, but here we are.

I think that NakedShorts might finally be vindicated! Because I think, at a minimum, we can consider this a pretty good tanking.

The average annual decline in SPY is fourteen percent. Nothing unusual so far.

Hey Cono, I live in my own house in Tahoe, with my wife and kids.

My sister lives in her own house, with her husband and their kids. They also own a nice cottage on a lake.

If you were not such a fuckup maybe you would live in a nice place with your wife and kids instead of in - what is it, Missouri? - by yourself, seling insurance.

Awesome. You’re right, I should have stayed in Carnelian Bay and either been a selfish dead beat dad, or force my ex to stay there, work in Reno. Not.

Next week my d 1 pitcher son turns 21 and my daughter will celebrate hers in Ibiza on the semester at sea stop.

    Couldn’t be prouder.

civilcoconut - IMO this doesn't count as a black swan yet. We are, however, on the early part of this gongshow. Am still long VIX calls pending retaliatory tariffs
