I thought that I made a reservation at DV for yesterday. I walked up to the Gondi, walked thru the turnstile and skied. Today, I received an e-mail from IKON stating that I skied w/out a reservation. When I looked at my account, I noticed that my res. was for 2/23, not 2/16. I guess they either let me slide, or the reservation system does not really block someone from skiing without a reservation. The caveat is that if one does this regularly, their pass may be flagged.

Same happens if you make a reservation and dont show up - you get a nasty-gram that says you might get the ban-hammer. Dont ask me how I know.

    Ikon Pass

Looking at family wanting to potentially go on a few spring skiing trips at ikon destinations, in years past has a pass bought in the late March or early April pre sale worked that year? (Ie can they buy next years pass in march and then ski at bachelor in May?)

IIRC, some resorts did offer spring skiing on a next years pass. But I dont remember which ones.

Here's Ikon's info for last year's spring skiing:
    https://www.ikonpass.com/en/spring-skiing

If I understand you correctly, yes -- if you buy a 2025-26 pass in the spring of 2025 (say, March 2025), then you can use it at the listed areas after the listed date, and also have full use during the winter 2025-26 season. I'm going to do this, and get use of the bike park 1-day pass too.

Went to Mammoth this weekend--only time my passless son could get off. I didn't order friends and family passes with him because I never know if he's going to show so I expected to pay full window rate. I got a good discount instead, not sure how much. I thought the friends and family had to be bought and paid for a day in advance. Maybe that's only for the non Alterra resorts?

I have been similarly confused by last minute purchases going through last year. And also at an Alterra resort, so maybe that is the reason?

Would be nice of them to clarify if that's the situation, but why bother, I guess.

The scanners don't know if you have a reservation or not. It's when the resort calls into the mothership to report usage that the check happens. You get 2 uses without a reservation before any action happens to you on the 3rd.

I feel like I fed right into the Alterra scheme by buying a pass this year. I justified it because day prices were so high. Then I just spent a bunch of money on traveling and paying for overpriced resort stays. Not doing it again next year. Time to move back into the van at Lookout.

So base pass went up $40. Looks like same old blackout dates and fewer places needing reservations.

Is there a group buy discount that applies to the spring pass, non renewal purchase? I can't remember if there has been in past years.

Reminder that if you get hurt without buying their extra insurance, you are SOL. Epic includes injury protection in the cost of the pass. I broke my leg on my first day this year and Ikon would not offer anything (going to push for a bigger discount for this year) where Epic gave me all my money back on my unused pass. I hate Vail, but this is one thing they got right.

Utah resorts (Brighton, Deer Valley, Snowbasin, Snowbird and Alta) don't seem to want us anymore unless we get the full pass. So no Base Plus option. Or am I reading it wrong ?

Is this the same increment it went up by last year? Seems like they throw in just a little more each year. Also if I have base plus I am eligible for the full renewal price, correct? Here I was thinking I wasn’t going to do this mega pass shit again then Abasin joins full ikon. Thought maybe next year I would just do an Abasin and a discounted copper pass that I can get through work but now with this news that just wouldn’t make much sense with all you get the option of on ikon.

For someone who has never purchased an Ikon pass before, anyone want to give a quick rundown on what&#39;s the best pass option. Is the base pass good enough? What more do you get with the full pass? I don&#39;t see myself skiing more than five days at any one resort next season.</p>

This is a complicated question and depends on your location and needs.

You really will need to go to the website and peruse the options, because the differences are not particular straightforward.

Tell me about it. That's why I was hoping for a recommendation from the experts here.

Snowbasin welcomed many Ikoners today and will again next season. All are full pass owners (I think). Welcome AD! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That&#39;s the thing - a good recommendation is almost impossible without getting some requirements... I&#39;ll try to help, though.

Ikon Base: unlimited skiing at a number of destiations, 5 days at the limited destinations, no days at the Premium destinations
Ikon Base+: unlimited at a number of destinations, 5 days at the limited destinations, 5 days at the Premium destinations
Ikon Pass: unlimited at quite a few destinations, 7 days at the limited destinations, 7 days at the Premium destinations

Keep in mind - that&#39;s just a generalization. HTH.
