My wife and I would move there in a second if we could, but the system is definitely designed to give precedence to those who will be emigrating and working in BC. We'd be moving there to retire and they aren't really interested in freeloaders like us.

We haven't actually tried to apply for permanent residency, but just looking at the points system we'd be borderline do to our age.

That said, you can live in BC up to six months per year without residency, so that's also an option, but at this point I want to get off this sinking ship.

Le sigh. Only bordering province to VT is Quebec. It would work for them because the maple syrup cartel could then control the best syrup in the world.
