There isn’t any sign of their existence on QBP, and they are the importer and primary distributor. I’ll try to remember to ask next time I talk to the rep.

Just noticed today on QBP that Conti tires in Supersoft/Enduro and Soft/trail are on the horizon for late spring/early summer.

maybe yall have long since discussed this but
    https://www.bikeradar.com/news/vitto...ure-calculator

it's pretty interesting , the first calculator i've used that didn't drastically recc over inflating, wonder if this will gain any traction,

im a firm believer if people were just less lazy and checked pressure before each ride, there would be no need for inserts, over inflation, etc etc.

^^^ that thing puts me like 5 psi low. The rim would take a serious beating at those pressures.

It gives me higher pressures (MUCH higher in front) than what I run, and less spread between front/rear (I usually have a 4psi spread, 3 if I run lighter casing up front). Weirdly enough, pressures go down if I say that I'm a pro, and up if I'm an "enthusiast". lol

I'm a bit skeptical of running 20/21 F/R with standard Specialized tires on a 150mm bike. Seems a bit low to me?

Yep, too low. The Wolf Tooth calculator gives me exactly on what I have settled on for my big bike and is much faster to use so has been a good reference for setting up new riders, my loaded bikepacking bike or taking my town bike on trails recently.

i'm not saying yall wrong, every tire experience is anecdotal, but i'm a hamfisted 190-200 lb fully kitted, i ride pretty fast without much regard for line choice. and i've run 20f/22r for years, no inserts, just tires matched to proper width rims and check my pressure before rides. have had probably 3 flats in ten years. i just don't get the high pressure insert thing?

In that same range, known to be a basher, and run 21/24 so pretty close. I do run a Huck Norris in the rear just to be safe.

I've always run low 20s psi. Typically with Maxxis tires, exo or whatever I happened to find on sale last.

Honestly, I'm not even sure what's accurate anymore. None of my gauges are consistent with each other.

That calc has me 2-4lbs lower than what I run...if my gauge is accurate...which it probably isn't, but maybe consistent? Also, maybe I didn't fill the questions out properly, but I feel like I've ridden enough to know where I should be based on conditions. I'm always 20-24lbs. Maybe lower when super wet, but that's just a feel and I let some air out mid ride if need be.

Ya I answered all the questions and it suggested 19 psi / 20 psi. Lol.

Yeah - it was 18f/20r for me. I got a flat on the rear simply from the suggestion of 20psi.

I have been running some Rekons for a season, came on my bike, i was gonna do a hut to hut trip. Never did. Never really loved em. Anyway, now they are shot and I want something maybe a little burlier, but still fast rolling and not crazy heavy.

What genre of tires should i be looking at? Mostly CO trail kinda riding with the occasional desert trip or maybe even a day at trestle. Bike is a GG trail pistol (29er).

I also have a GG Trail Pistol and have been on Vittoria Syerras to great effect for the last year or so. I'm switching to more XC tires later this season for XCM racing(Barzo/Mezcal) but the Syerras would be something fast rolling and quite durable. They've held up well to the lava rock here in Bend. I'm also currently waiting on some Wolfpack Trails for my GFs bike. Those seem to be light, fast rolling, and have enough tread that it won't scare someone coming from Minion DHRs. Remains to be seen.

My hei hei came with rekons and i never really liked them, sliced them both in a couple of months and considered them to be both slow and not very grippy. They were the 2.25 3c/exo/tr version, perhaps a 2.4 feels a little better.

I've been through a couple of sets of syerras and like them as a "slightly more traction and durability than an XC race tire" option. There was a bit of a gap between riding these and the rekons, plus changes to the bike and suspension but I feel like they are faster, have more grip, and are more durable. It's still not much more than some xc tires- compared a mezcal it's a pretty marginal difference but it's there.

I got the updated 2.4" mezcals last year like them well enough but they're really expensive now (msrp of $104). The hardtail just got schwalbe's rick xc, which turn a lot better than the thunder burts and are still fast, but one weighed a good amount more than listed and they come out narrower than the 2.4 on the label.

I have the Rekon race on my Blur and I was shocked at how well they held considering how they look compared to my Assagai and DHR. I don't have any other experience with xc tires and that bike is just fast AF anyway.

Anybody have time on the Conti Xynotal yet? Have an Enduro/soft in the mail for a summer rear option wondering how they'll hold up on dust and marbles

Edit: Xynotal is the fastest tire I've ever run on big bike short of a rekon I put on once for kicks. The Enduro casing can take a beating (obv). It is noticeably skitchier when dust gets deeper. Bombing through tech they get kicked sideways more easily. Shallow marbles it's serviceable, not my first choice. Dissector offers better braking traction and the lugs are more substantial/trustworthy and is slightly (but noticeably) slower. They're getting the nod in the rear...for now. We'll see how the soft compound wears.

Is the Magic Mary addix soft compound pretty similar to, or softer than the 3CMaxterra? I usually run an exo plus asseagi with 3C, but found a Magic Mary with supertrail/soft locally for a great price for a take-off and am thinking of checking it out. I just want to make sure it's at least as grippy rubber wise, if anything I would lean towards the purple but its not available. Thanks!

I find the schwalbe soft to be grippier than maxterra, I have an extra soft waiting to try next but haven&#39;t run one to comment.&nbsp;<br />
