I had a great day on the Sender Squads today. Such a good “playful charger”. I have been skiing some super fast skis lately, but the Squads almost keep up with Pro Riders and HL R105s. I’m pretty sure the Squads have a higher speed limit than Katana 108s for me too, since Katanas have that 3D radius which I don’t love. Katanas are stiffer though. After skiing the 35m turns of Pro Riders and R105s, Squads almost feel snappy!

They are maneuverable enough for my liking in tighter spots and medium sized moguls too, for such a bi ski. They have huge sweet spot. I like the 110 waist in softer snow, but they do feel wide on refrozen stuff.

Posted in the 25/26 gear thread too but reposting here as there was pics of the Sender Free 100 earlier.

Saw a place that has stock of the new Rossignol Sender Free 100 and inquired about dimensions and drill bit guidelines.
They confirmed the lack of metal underfoot as was rumoured with the 3.5mm bit rec and it has a 20 meter radius in the 184cm length with dimensions of 131/100/123mm. So it’s very similar to the 184 SF 110 specs minus 10mm all around.
They weigh 2.1kg each according to their scales which just a bit more than the 182cm Blackops 98.

    $649.99 US retail/$749.99 CAN retail

That's interesting. The SF100 is priced lower than the Blackops 98? I feel like those skis are going to be fairly similar, no? Blackops is slightly more directional I suppose? I was about to ask your Corbetts buddy to potentially save on some Blackops 98, but now am debating should try the SF100 to go with the SF110.

Yes, the Blackops 98 is actually $100 CAN more expensive than the new Sender Free 100($850 CAN vs $750 CAN). The SF 100 lacks the metal underfoot of the BO 98 or SF 110 but has nearly the same dimensions minus 10mm of the SF 110, so more symmetrical than the BO 98 and a bit longer turn radius(20m vs 19m) in the 184cm SF 100/182cm BO 98. SF 100 with a bit more taper than the BO 98 and I’m sure the tips/tails will have more splay and rocker too. Looked like the same rec mount point between the SF 110/SF 100. So the BO 98 a bit more directional and a bit more precise I’d bet than the SF 100. The SF 100 should be a bit looser when flat and should pass over things better.

If they truly are 2100g underfoot w/o metal underfoot, they must be fairly burly. Curious how they would handle landings and runouts compared to SF110. I'm offloading some Wildcat 101's due to them being a bit light at 1900g which these could replace. Might be a good daily in the wasatch aside from storm days

Found a really cheap pair of BO118s locally that I picked up. Currently injured but excited to try them out when I’m back. Definitely don’t need them but alas now I have them

Curated dot com has one eighteens listed at three thirty nine if anyone needs a backup.
Scored a pair for a little less by just asking.

Man, mounted up a pair of these today, the core is SOFT. Thick fiberglass laminate under the top sheet graphics, and then a low density core. No issue with screw torque, but noticeable compared to other skis, imo. Probably part of the special sauce for blops.

They are incredibly similar wrt to shape/rocker profile, if not identical. SF110 = 2230ish a ski, MF112=2330ish a ski. These pairs ski a fair bit differently though. MF112s are noticably stiffer and more busninesslike - they want to go where you point them. I reset the edges before skiing them, but might not have gone to town enough on these - something that could have affected how they skied (more locked in). This pair of SF110s are a fair bit softer and poppier and want to play and pop and turn. I was really sceptical concerning the reported differences in layup in these vs a suspiscion of a marketing department saying stuff, but one day in their different rides seems to confirm that they are in fact a bit different. I am kinda curious if they made the SF110 a bit softer this year or if it is just this pair - makes me curious to pick up a pair of SF118s - to differentiate them more from MF112s. As for the BO118 vs MF112 question - the are a bit different. BO118 are similar wrt to stiffness, but their added width makes them surfier. MF112 are more of a daily driver imho, BO118 more of a powder specialist. They both mob variable. It should be fairly easy to choose between them as the choice is kinda the same as SF110 vs SF118.

A few days in Whistler with some new snow and the BO 118 were out and killed it as always. Let my buddy try them out who has some 102 and 112 Faction skis and he couldn't believe how damp and stable they were.
The BO 98 were great when there was no snow-gripped on the firm and fun in the bumps.

    Got your ski shipment today!
Cant wait to mount up my neon orange pivots on these Swamps and ride them!
Gotta say, fast, easy and fairly priced-thanks!
You still have those Sender Free 118s?

Think you're mistaking me for Crystal Skier who often chats with me about all his Blackops and Sender Free 118 buys so not far off. Haha
Enjoy the swamps! They are awesome skis!

    Haha, my bad!
I've read this thread many times, but I'm still unsure of mounting point.....
Definitely ski directionally aggressively-on the directional line, or further back? I ski my first gen 188 Rustler 11s at -2 from recommended, but should have probably gone -3.

Keep in mind that they have a *lot* of tail rocker.

Much more symmetrical sidecut on the Blackops 118 vs the Rustler 11 so it's going to be mounted forward of the Rustler 11.
What is your size as most are mounting back to max float, so around 200lbs I would be guess around -3cm from rec trough/-5.5cm back and over that size, maybe -3.5cm/6cm total back. Have directional skier friends that are around 230lbs and went -4cm/-6.5cm total and still found it playful there.

Makes sense, I'm 5'11 165 on the 186. I will probably mount on the directional line to be honest. Maybe on recommended if I'm feeling spicy!

    Rossignol Black Ops?

I’m your size but a little lighter and have mine mounted at minus one point nine from rec, and they seem perfect there. If I was you, I would choose something between minus two and minus two point five.

I'm 5-6 165 lbs. My plan was -2 cm from rec but ended up at -2.5 cm due to hole conflicts. Quite happy with how they ski there.

Went with -2 from rec. Having them check the bases and grind, or just wax accordingly. Ready to crush everything in my path!

Would have recommended around -2cm for a 165lb skier so that's perfect. At -2.5cm at 175lbs and it's perfect for me.
Good idea on the grind as they are often off from the factory.
