VT-F and I had a nice tour on a sunny Saturday and found plenty of untracked lines.

Mrs P and I skied at Sunny Hollow today and got caught in quite a squall. It dropped 1”+ in less than an hour.

And we made it back in time for the UVM Celebration Parade - NCAA [emoji460]? Champs!

And don’t forget kids, drunk uncle may not be the best ski guide to follow into the unknown.

In many ways, the more I ski around the more I appreciate Plattekill. I think that says something, since it’s been in the rotation since the nineties. A ski day there just never disappoints. Sunday was no exception with ski on chairs, soft snow, and good vibes.

I’ll be an old man talking about what tickets used to cost though. Hunter must be insane these days for a walk up at the window.

    eta:

    hunter 150$
    platty 98$

It’s a valid point. Have Vail and Alterra ruined skiing? I think the jury is still out on that; it certainly sucks to be at one of those places on a weekend.

I tend to like the smaller places. Magic (obviously), Plattekill, Ragged, Smuggs (not small but not a corporate hill), Bromley. MRG also but I rarely get there.

Don’t think I’ve ever had a bad day at any of those.

First day on the Alpine skis this year, Gonnif got me out for a fine lunch session. Dry packed chowda, great first day out!

First time at Bolton Valley today. Hopefully Cody’s not too disappoint, I skied my tech bindings. Fun hill. Headed north and got a run in before dark. Some of the best EC touring conditions I’ve seen.

Do it again tomorrow, I don’t need to go anywhere

^^^ I hope that you’re enjoying your new rig. I bet it feels like a palace compared to the back of the ol’ Subaru.

That last pic was a boner photo Bottleman. What the hell is wrong with this site? Too much spinny nonsense. Where do I send my complaints?

Great time skiing with you Saturday, snow was perfect and comfortable in the sun with no wind. I would post a pic of you arcing in a pow field but no options for me currently.

The few pictures y'all posting looking nice.

Wheel skiing has been nice this week, plenty of good snow and empty lifts.....

Yup. I look for places with cover that thick to protect from sunburn.

Damn cold out there yesterday and even touring didn’t get enough blood flowing.

3100’ just off the ridge but still breezy enough to freeze our digits when stripping skins.

Somehow even a cold Heady off the cask system didn’t warm us up. [emoji1787]

Skiing this weekend was: good, and good and cold.

Anyone in Northern VT need a double ski bag? I have an extra. Its in good condition, but not perfect. Looking to sell for $50 OBO. Figured I would ask around here first before I toss it on FB and receive a million "Do you still have it"s.
I also have some free 2023 Salomon S Max 130s that were used less than 25 days, but incurred an irreparable heel punch. Boots are missing the toe and heel plates as well. So these are Free for parts if you want em!

Last week danmellon caught up with me in northern Vermont for a tour. I would post pictures, but….

Another mag reached out, unfortunately I had to go early and zone had just one parking spot.

Anticipating snow this Sunday. I will be skiing black mountain of Maine Sunday. Touring over to rumford whitecap Monday. Should be a nice loop with some interesting runs. Tuesday will be a tour in some tighter places. Beacon and shovel would be smart to bring as there’s a couple steep places snow could fall down. Happy to show folks around. Lots of room to park. Reach out if you have the time and interest
