^^^ They actually comped you when a ski lift failed? What have they done with Boyne?
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

It kept everybody happy. I can use those tickets for my kids over spring break. Might not need your extra buddy passes after all Bunion.

Of course a lot of people on vacation have no need for comp tix. They were offering those people $80 gift cards good for food or shopping. In real terms that probably costs Boyne more than comp tix that may or may not get used. Most people took the gift cards and seemed satisfied.

We also rode the new gondi to the One&Only for kicks. Really lux lift. The bar/restaurant has a stunning view of the mountain. Crazy opulence on display. I can't believe they built that gondola just for that place.

I could be wrong but I think the One & Only at MLB is the first O&O property in the US. O&O has an international reputation of "crazy opulence" and the gondola is one way to outperform the Montage and their bubble lift.

First OO in the US, yes. They definitely have a reputation for nice things. Had lunch there the other day. Bison smash burger was really good, and not wildly overpriced. Had a boot of beer which was fun.

The goal of the gondola won't be [edit: for OO] to outperform the Montage, since they are owned by the same entities. I think it's more of a logistical necessity. Will probably make more sense once the madison base area is built out.

Thanks for setting me straight on the ownership of these two ultra-luxury real estate holdings around Big Sky.

What year(s) did BSSP and MLBSP stop using artillery for avalanche control? I know where the BSSP artillery piece was located, but where was the MLP gun mount?

Big Sky in around 1981/82 I believe, the move was triggered by a land swap and the USFS no longer being involved with the ski operation (Snow Ranger and the artillery along with staffing requirements).

Moonlight never shot military ordnance, we had a McKracken Avalauncher. (Big Sky owns 2 as well) It was originally on top of the little cat road at the bottom of Headwaters Bowl. That was the launcher that caused a lot of legal fees in the first 2 seasons until peace and unity prevailed.
As MLB got more experience with the Headwaters the launcher became redundant so we moved it. It is now located below the NSS and the traverse back to Horseshoe Bowl. BSSP will shoot it now and then at the lower NSS and Orbit/Trident.

Awesome. Why Christy can't keep us stocked with cork is beyond me and above my paygrade.

I hear yeahman talking about buddy tix upthread^. In case Bunion or anyone else they want to pass some to a jong friend of a mag. I'll be out from end of Feb to first few days of March with some friends. Me and the kiddos are on Mountain Collective but my buddy and his three kids are going to be getting reamed (AKA paying full price). Let me know if anyone has some extra buddy tix that might soften the cost for them some, full disclosure he can afford it so not a critical need if you don't want to get rid of them.

Looks like y'all are setting a nice base already this year, look forward to skiing some of ya next month.

Looked like some classic BBC action. Was finishing up a job today. Should have gone skiing instead.

I'm having trouble quoting from desktop (on the flip phone train these days!) but to your question Harry, not as far as I know. Have a grandad that worked for the Army Ballistic Missile Agency (later NASA) at Marshall Space and Flight Center but no Army Colonels!

GD was okay with a few inches of fresh. Damn thin coverage up there though. Need ULLR to show that snow starved little hometown hill some love in February.

Hasn't snowed in weeks in whitefish. And doesn't look like it's gonna snow anytime real soon.

That said, it was sunny and I had some fun laps this afternoon. Temps have at least kept the snow cold.
