That changed a few years back.

Good skiing today with the Over the Hill gang.

I put in about a two hour session. Wind had gotten to some of the deep stuff in Liberty/Rope Line. It wasn’t horrible but after what we’ve been skiing I’ve gotten spoiled. I didn’t go out to Dakota Bowl or Hanging Valley…it might have been better.

    Dakota/Bavaria was still great.

This is Dave. He is a blue coat at the tram. We hang a lot waiting in the morning and he’s always been super friendly. Today was his day off and he got in tram line early. I offered to take a photo and he jumped. He was super stoked when I shared the pic, which made me feel good.

I’m thrashed. A break for a few days will be nice.

I can't believe how deep it was in Bavaria on Sunday. Today at Bridger ruled too. Weekend is over, back to work tomorrow.

Heck yeah! I love taking ski photos of friends and sharing. Win-win.

It was the best cycle at Big Sky I’ve skied. Not trying to start a contest as I’m sure there have been better. But it is the best I’ve had the pleasure of skiing.

    - The consistency of snow was awesome - so many deep days up top
    - The quality of snow was awesome - very little wind effect on the south face because of the N-NW flow. Plus the snow was light
    - ski patrol was able to open terrain.

Not much more you can really ask for.

And it hasn't been real crowded. IMO this is one of the better December/January storm cycles in memory.

Yeah it's been mental. Here's hoping the pattern locks back in with that beautiful NW flow. That run of storms from Xmas through this past weekend will be hard to beat. It's snow like that that brings back the old pow fiend in me. Bolivian Marching Blower off the south side had me strung out.

Looks like BS got the Snowfield open today. I'll be down tomorrow, if anybody wants to hook up for a north side lap shoot me a message.

Pretty damn good still some trees/logs to watch out for. Storm last week came in heavy and helped a lot. I was riding back there Fri and sat as well. Sat was busiest day so far this season but like usual finding fresh was easy and limelight was deserted around 1pm. Went to take a buddies new(to him) sleds for a quick rip on Sunday before football.

Oh and I wouldn't ride the rockpile yet but I'm sure someone will. Fri/Sat was first time ive seen people traverse into the lower section so far.

Broke an axle last month, basically because I had to weld one up for proper length. Rebuild with new axle not requiring welding. Hopefully it’s good to go now. Nice to have snow and just test it in the yard.

No hero snow today but walk-on NSS laps all afternoon were much appreciated. Skied with lotsa fun randos. No pics except an apres beer at the Vista. It's great, nobody is ever here and you can just look at the mountain and chill.

Missoula news had a news item about these new cameras being used either AI to identify wildfires. Cool, but i also noticed good views for other uses (good view of Snowbowl). I didn't poke around to see what other parts of the west was on the site.

Sunny, windy and coolish down south. High Speed bowls runs, all the bumps were gone and wind grooming was the order of the day. Good to get some Vitamin D but I am spoiled. Bring back the snow.

My wife and I were in line at Mad 8 when it shit the bed. Total cluster. Got in line for a bus back to the base and an employee was handing out comp tickets like candy. I snagged three. [emoji3] Not bad for 90 minutes of downtime.
