Ski socks and shoe socks are not the same thing, jong. ;-)

I must be getting old and losing my marbles because today I got to work and realized I had forgotten my jacket.

    Maybe I'm just senile.

I once pulled up to the hill, and started changing in the lot. Grabbed my ski pants, but goddammit, they were my wife’s. Had to ski in jeans.

I use ski socks but have always been skeptical about how much difference they make.

That said, why not just slum it in regular socks? (or buy a pair if it's such a necessity)

/shrug. It was a 2hr night session. Regular socks are shorties with too much cushion. Would have hurt like hell. And the shop at the lodge was nothing but overly cushioned "ski socks."

No. Senile, overly anal gaper me needs the ultra-thin, no cushion wool or silk. Which is a nod at the Intuition Pro Tongue... it either fits perfectly or not at all. And that thing is firm/stiff.

I should probably start keeping a wardrobe in my truck for when I forget shit.

You should probably get another vehicle in case you can't find your truck.

It wasnt so much what was said, but moreso it was the befuddled and clamfounded look of an ikoner attempting to roll with local snowbird passholders this last pow sunday.
The linked clip best describes what I witnessed, lol

    That's great.

There is nowhere on earth where gapers on the traverse tolerated less well than Bird and Alta. It's awesome.

    But Alta wins.

I very much wish I would have had my phone with me ~10 years back when we encountered a snowblader on the High T at Alpental with no poles shuffling out to Piss Pass. We asked him to step off the traverse so we could go by and he got pissed and claimed he could out ski everyone on his blades. A very funny and puzzling experience.

We were skiing spanky's ladder and my kid got impatient watching gapers boot up it (how gaper? I was able to keep up, that's pretty gaper) so he side stepped up the steeper slope to the right . One of the gapers tried to follow, got half way up and slid back to the bottom.

Heard in the Collins lift line on Saturday in the midst of this weekends 19” sneak storm - “I think my pole baskets are too small, are yours sinking too far into the snow? I think I need to get bigger baskets on my poles”….

i mean, if you had some rippin laser ARs and sick ass powder baskets like this cat does, wouldn't you want to let the plebs in the lodge know what the fuck is up?

Guy today was ranting about the faulty temp sensor readings at lift tops, because they were reading higher than the base.

I explained the fundamentals of air inversions, which we get a lot here at Mt Brokenchair when weather is sunny for long stretches.

Not sure he got it - had a Tucker Carlson befuddled look.

Was he wearing a Dodgers hat?
