So I would be wasting my time tomorrow (friday). I don't mind adventure skiing but if it is shitty... Heavenly was a zoo today. I have other things I could do

KW groomers (Zach's and Sentinel) we excellent from 9am till 10am.

If you like fast and smooth and just edge-able enough to be really fun. No one out early (well TC looked busy when I left). Grey, windy and empty.

Snow started as we pulled out of the valley at noon. Dumping down to 5500'.

Looks like 666 has brought the snow.

BTW I disagree with Mashed about conditions yesterday. We had a ton of fun playing in sunny zones with soft spring like snow tho not slushy.

And my kid and I even skied Two Man for a legit double as it was slide for life conditions over there. And then had to take Olympic to the shuttle with Sentinel closed.

Looks good for tomorrow. A fun week of resort skiing.

And yeah, the 1st was all time wind buff with not a whole lot of people around.

Epic shitshow, for reals. I've never seen SB that busy. I was licking my wounds when I talked to a buddy at PT and he made me feel better.

    Absolutely beautiful day, though!!

40 and 80 were slowed to a crawl WB when we left at 2. Hopefully that means they're all headed home. This holiday has felt especially long.

Today was most excellent. I even saw a guy in one of my way-back-there zones where I've never seen anyone else ski. He was ok though, and we skied a lap together.

Tomorrow will also be great up high but the warming is a concern.Name: 17360400244630.jpeg

Kirkwood very good today. Not quite bottomless and firmness underneath but close enough to rock n' roll.''

Nice to have a sunny pow day with the whole mountain open!

Thanks! Don't tear your rotator cuff.....Jesus, what a long and brutal recovery. I still need to be careful about falling at 6 months....all started with sticky ass snow at Palisades OV Edition in April 2023.

Today was fun at Alpine. My student has autism. He still goes harder than most dentists! Even hiked out of bounds with me.

It almost felt like a powder day. Had the bottom layer been even remotely soft, it would have been pretty great. Still really good, though. Legit shin deep blower under the Cirque. Then I left because the hoarde showed up for my sloppy seconds.

Had to pick up a bazillion kegs at SLBC this morning for an emergency tap takeover so I headed south from there for some turns. Above Red Lake there was less than half the snow there was at lake level on the west shore. The crust wasn’t too firm though. Decided to head to Dead Tree Bowl despite forgetting the beacon in the car based on how little new snow there was and how well it had bonded (and probably because some asstaints were in the process of highmarking many of lakefront the lines close to the parking).
I’ve never wished more for a brittle ice layer.

Disney was tracked out by 9. Not sure exactly when the started loading lifts but Jerome was loading at 830 although nobody seemed to catch on. I bailed around noon when the hike uphill to the end of the singles line coming back from the west side of Disney got too long. They had an employee out on DPR trying to direct traffic to available parking (not sure if there was any.)

Interesting contrast in snow depending on aspect. East--a little heavy, no bottom if you stayed away from the bumps. West, shallower but wind buffed enough to not hit bottom. North--lighter, more hitting bottom. Light dry powder is not always the best. (Just usually.)

Blue shirt directing traffic was going a fantastic job.
