I don't use IG so no idea.
Going through that feed (which is hard to follow) the patroller is OK. Not clear if it was a volly or a scab

In other Park City news from that site, patrol appears to have abandoned a loaded toboggan on a run. Details are sketchy.

There’s also video of patrollers struggling to load a toboggan at base of bonanza.

I call b.s. on that allegedly abandoned toboggan -
it neither looks loaded, nor abandoned as there is a pair of skis parked right next to the toboggan.
Rather it looks like a toboggan that has been in-use and no longer is loaded, or is a toboggan that is being returned to the hill...

Easy with that photo to make a sensational claim.

pretty amazing the (conflict) that Ig account promotes between paid patrollers and volunteer patrollers.

    Good luck...

Very Glad the Blueslip bowl event did not result in injuries - or worse.

Fail is the most evil entity on the planet.

My solution is cough up a few bucks and burn everyone who owns the housess on the hills by 9590 to pay for it and we can laugh at them?

Don't you think it would be easier to give the patrol a raise?

Doubt there're any volys on the hill

PCMR posted basically nothing is open at canyons today other than beginner terrain, and they aren't selling lift tickets

more ig stories from that account, screenshots of texts, one saying "people are literally just hiking up the mountain" and "my son had to rescue some guy who had a bloody face and was concussed yesterday, they wouldn't answer his call"

Canyons side virtually closed down. Only lifts open are those to move you from the Can. base to the Park City Base Camp. Pitiful

So how much money are they fighting over?

Just looking at wages, take [emoji639][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]] patrollers, say they work [emoji637],[emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]] hrs a season ([emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]] months @ [emoji640][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]]hrs/wk) and would settle for a $[emoji638]/hr average increase. That’s $[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]]k a year, but not everyone’s working [emoji640][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]]hrs/wk for the full season, so call it $[emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]]k.

Vail Resorts net income was $[emoji638][emoji639][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]] million last year. $[emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]]k is .[emoji638]% of their net income, which is effectively a rounding error.

How many executive’s bonuses would it take to cover what the trollers are asking for?

This is irrelevant, because corporate executives are CRITICAL staff, unlike ski patrol.

Stop using the fucking app and we are fine. It’s not supported and hasn’t been for years.

You realize this place is operating on several decades old tech with a bunch of emergency patches right?

    guys -
at this point, this really isn't about the Patrol wages anymore, but it's about Who runs the company -

If VR increases their offer, VR can expect any department at any resort to make similar demands.

    If the patrollers miss 80 hours, they lose as much pay as they were calling the base wage be increased ;
This could be settled on Thursday, but at this point I expect this to last at least two weeks ( - or VR hires replacements and runs their "Support Team" for the season ).

This really isn't about Patrol wages anymore.

One of my best friends owns a shop in PC, and some other small biz, says lift ops at canyons walked out in solidarity. He expects major cancellations.

This is why this whole thing is soooo dumb. Ski Patrol should just because a national union in the USA and become a contractor for ski resorts. Ski Patrol can start to operate as a non-profit and solicit donations from the billionaires who want to enjoy in-bounds resort skiing.

So go get some fucking interns to fix it, it's not rocket surgery.

Anyway, doing some math on the wages issue, say 300 patrollers working a 6 month season, 40 hrs/wk. Would they settle for a $2/hr average bump? That's $600k, but the real number would be lower since not everyone is working 40hrs/wk for a full season. Call it $500k for shits and giggles.

Is that alot of money to Vail Resorts? Their net income last year was $230 million, EBITDA was $825 million, revenue just from lift operations was $1.4 BILLION. $500k is less than a rounding error to Vail Resorts.

So how many executive's bonuses would it take to cover everything the Patrollers are asking for? Well, CEO Kristen Lynch took home a bonus of $1.2 million in cash, plus another $2.2 million in stock options.
