Not true. Just this week I criticized the Biden admin for pre-announcing ATACMS policy. Meanwhile your original position was for Ukraine to surrender unconditionally to the inevitable complete Russian takeover of Ukraine. That's Rod's position. He hasn't changed his views. Is that still your position?

    You really should watch this:

He talks about why it isn't irresponsible at this point, why it might be the most responsible time, minimally escalatory, and useful option for triggering negotiations. I think you'd really like that video. He covers a whole host of options for the Trump admin to push each side. It really is worth your time. He also details Russian advances.

It's very much worth your time (and everyone else in this thread should watch it too).

I’m just fucking with you guys about the long range strikes, to see if any of you will critique Biden, and you won’t. I think for a lame duck president, it’s totally irresponsible at this point.

Ukraine is not your first priority, never has been. Your own personal feelings have been involved from day 1. You should have recused yourselves in the name of trump/ Putin delusion.

It's a good listen. Instead of bleating about escalation, there's a better scenario where Biden takes advantage of his lame duck status to provide incoming President Trump a stronger hand. Of course, a stronger hand is unacceptable if the intent is to bully Ukraine into taking a bad deal...

I agree that Biden did an asshole thing. It's customary that when a CEO or president of the us is in his way out he consults with his replacement on important decisions.

lol, Trump isn't in office for another two months and Putin's biggest supporters already chiming in. Yet again, all the whinging about escalation crying out from Moscow is nothing but a bluff

The same common courtesy Trump had on his way out.

Let the mongol hordes loose on Europe! The whole NK pact is an abomination between abhorrents, and a response is warranted, but too little too late is the worry now. Putin could grind up 10k NK’s in a week at this rate, and keep going.

Yeah, except donnie said N O to the transition teams meeting and NO to meetings with Joe. He did agree to that photo op with Joe to try and put the world leaders at ease. So there's that.

It all sounds like, Europe has to emancipate from Uncle Sam. Well EU leaders have to make decisions. That’s it.

As for Trump, his schtick is more self-promotion than constructivism. For now, he has no political authority, only the power of his own caucus and his personal spectacle. Still, he could use this moment to at least articulate what his goal for Ukraine might be, as a way to prepare for negotiations to come with other NATO nations, and with Ukraine herself.

Captain Lui right after hanging up the satphone with PLAN DI: "Oh it was this seaman Ivanovich's fault 100%. He sabatoged the anchor. We knew nothing of his GRU connections. You can have him and let us be on our way."

Thanks for posting, I have to agree that was the best analysis I've seen from him, and he's always good. He did well to skip trying to predict Trump as a non-American (lucky bastard), but in the process leaves out an elephant in the room: Biden has to be careful not to give Trump a clear policy or he's likely to reverse it just to distance himself from Biden. Or at least, that has to be part of the Biden admin's calculus.

Strangely, I prefer Perun at 1 or slower speed. Always quality stuff and a listenable voice, but his cadence is odd. Like almost text to voice AI.

That's wild. I don't even know what he sounds like at regular speed, I crank that up before he even starts to talk.
