You KNOW you want it.
And the shirt too.

I would get the baja sweater but they ain't got my size.
Triple lockers are back if you can deal with the giant grill. I can only hope Toyota offers a true off road variant of the LX since the 300 series LC seems to be gone for good.
Just update the 70 series to conform here. Those with tiple lockers would be so sweet. Not sure of the use of triple lockers in a $100+ luxury vehicle like the Lexus. Who knows if the 70 would sell? I'm guessing Toyota knows or we would already have such a thing. I guess just keep my 80 rolling and dream about this sweet 70 I got to drive in another country that will probably never show up here. Might be the only vehicle that could get me to sell my 80.

Agreed. Long story but came that way to me and now it has a big hole in the fender.
70 series is the dream.
There’s a French couple here in Aspen who are rolling around in a FJ78 troopy and 79 Ute. 25 years old but looking pretty good. I see them daily or twice a day cruising around.
Lots of new LC’s here; I’m def a fan of the round headlights over the flat LEDs

I miss my 80 a lot sometimes. There’s one in Seattle that is ls swapped and it sorta makes me wonder what if….
Also, a diesel 70 series would be lights out. A man can dream.

My uncle in Bolivia used to have a turbo diesel manual 80 series. Thing was a beast.

I still call it The Jake.
Apparently nothing, just very late bidding on BaT I guess that brought it back to a normal sales range.
I still call it The Jake.
Actually, that dealer has been posting in BAT for a very long time and has garnered a sketchy reputation for selling sometimes rusty shit boxes. Not sure why BaT still allows them to post but BaT ain’t what it used to be.
Take this and feel better.

I know nothing about these things but...https://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/c...820665110.html
does anyone have thoughts on the newest Land Cruiser?
It seems polarizing. I think they’re kind of cool but if they have bad highway manners and suck at off roading and don’t actually get [emoji639][emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]] miles on a tank it seems like an easy pass.

@Conundrum 's lady has one. He would be the person to ask, seeing as he's well versed in the LC world.
I suspect it's a great daily driver and weekend adventurer. It may or may not hold up to the rigors that its vaunted predecessors did but few users actually require that level of durability and capability.

Brought the 62 out the canyon with my youngest for a little spring celebration in the creek beds.![]()

I think the problem with the auto journos is they are being lazy with their land cruiser reviews. They are taking the image on one model within the worldwide landcruiser lineup, and expecting every single version of it to be exactly the same. Its a prado. Which is fine. My GX gets love even though its a prado. So does the 4runner (both old and new). But for some reason guys like Camisa are wondering why a 55k base vehicle in 2025 isn't performing or have the feel of a 100k+ vehicle and its a lazy take. If they did even an ounce of research they'd understand the Land Cruiser is a lineup of vehicles and there are some real rough and tumble base models in that lineup, the US just historically not received them, or they were branded as 4 runners. At the end of the day if it proves to be reliable over the next decade I suspect it will be revered just like every single one before it.
That said, I'd pay the 10% premium and just get a base GX550, so who am I to talk.
Live Free or Die
Went to a Yota meet up in Golden this weekend. It was cool to see a lineup of a bunch of old and new Land Cruisers. A few Prados, and of course a ton of built up Tacos, 4runner, FJ's, etc. Only saw one Sequoia which was disappointing since that's what we have. Wish I had taken a few pics. GOTOS galore and lots of vendors. Fun to nerd out for a little bit.
That sounds fun. Not totally sure I’m ready to join the cult but I put a deposit down just in case. I guess I could save a lot of money if I picked up an Ascent instead but the Toyota looks a little more fun to get to spots in the backcountry, tow sleds, and crawl to tim hortons.
I hate cars but the idea of being able to push over quad and fire service roads for a couple of hours with the fam so I don’t have to see any others sounds appealing.
Pretty much what the Reverend is doing (but with a tuque).
If there was a lexus dealer close i’d be very interested in the gx, but interior bc has pretty limited options. more than six hours to kelowna. anyway, i may still spend a lot less and call it a day.
when’s the next mega millions group buy, anyway?
