Sorry, I couldn't pass up the opportunity.

Especially when it gets at the ridiculous religious divisions between Crustal, Alpy and Stevens skiers. Like a bunch of old biddys, some Lutheran, some Protestant, some Presbyterian all snibbling about the failure of the others true understanding.

Point being, you choose your densities.
I find Elevator gets smashed in record time these days - before you can even get back for another lap sometimes. I’d still trade long lines for myself and others skiing more of the time.

    You're entitled to your choice.
It's a done deal, so I'm just whining.

    But I'll make mine.

I think that choice was already made for us. Now its just a choice of how to feel about the results... whatever they may be.

For now, Ill take the glass half-full option, as there have been too many days in the past few years where the lines have been super long on days without any recent snow, and i would have loved to just lap skied out fun bumps, or to take multiple quick laps out E and Nash gates to poke around but the long lift lines allowed for only 3-4 laps before noon. Especially as more of my onhill ski time gets taken up with my young kid, quick hitting laps with minimal lift lines gains in importance for me.

Yup, everyone is making their quantity over quality 'choice' pretty clear, glad handing the inevitable. I'm confused as to how a choice for me is made by some else though.

In the middle of all the forced half full sentiments and wonderful assessments of the new chair, I'll miss the on hill sparseness. Hopefully I'm wrong about eggcarton bumps on Elevator.

Alpy has turned into such a shitshow, on parking and on hill, I'm doing Central and Silver Fir more, even though it's not as "core". The winds have shifted there in more ways than one.

43 years there now and still not a local.

Are Mondays back in play for Alpy this winter?

Life must be pretty good these days if a local ski area adding a new chair lift causes sorrow.

I'm still the most upset about losing two nights at Alpy each week. I loved Tuesday and Wednesday nights up there. Also bummed that Powder Tuesday is gone now. It was a unique thing that we took for granted. Now that it's gone, I think a lot of folks will realize how awesome it was.

Bring back more Alpy nights! Central and West suck!

Yeah I think your opinion on it may vary based on your position in life. Ten years ago I was more into being there for 8 hours to ski 6 laps, but now, with a little one, I just want to be skiing for the time that I am there as I don’t get to go as often and can’t always stay all day.

Losing some early midweek nights really hurts IMO since the overall demand is just so high. I love night skiing there and am starting to enjoy that even more than skiing during the day, just due to the novelty and short lines.

I’ll miss the powder Tuesdays of yore, but recently I started avoiding them because the place gets so jacked up with like 800 people in line before the lift starts loading.

Bummer about nights at Alpental. Maybe the plan will be readjusted.
Otherwise at least you can all rejoice that my ikonic invasions will likely number less than seven.

I got the unlimited pass + IKON addon. I also just got shoulder surgery that puts me out for the next 4-6 months. If I call in and ask for my 24/25 snoqualmie pass to be credited toward next year, do I get to keep my IKON pass for this year? Seems like a nice loophole, if so.

If I have a remedy pass, do I get a parking pass? I did Ikon plus remedy as I know I'll be traveling a lot weekends before March when Remedy allows weekends.

Parking on the road will get that much worse.

General day parking pass if you don’t have a lift ticket is $55. Holeee sheeet

That should drastically reduce the sledders, snowshoers, and BC skiers clogging up the lots.

    Enforcement will be interesting

It'll be interesting to see how they enforce it, but I am happy to see them at least try to reduce the non-lift users occupying parking spaces. Something had to give.

Where did they even come up with that number? Nobody is going to pay $55. Nobody. People will either gamble and assume Summit mismanagement won't enforce it, or just go somewhere else. Maybe that's their goal.

There ought to be quite the black market for those $5 codes from all the Ikoners that carpooled and thus didn't use all of their codes for their ski days.

And isn't the uphill season pass (parking included) only $50? So effectively the parking season pass is cheaper than a single day.

Are you going to be mad when it's slightly less of a shit show in the parking lot? They had to do something.

We know they will never cap season tickets based on how many days people actually use them. They do seem to throttle day tickets between price and availability.

If they really cared they would boot the Ikon folks out.

    I'm not mad about this.

This seems solid to me and wish other resorts would follow suit. Sledders, wanderers and looky loo’s can go elsewhere.
Passholders are being prioritized in this program
    Ikon a nominal fee
And big disincentive for non-customers to stay out of the lots.
Win for all who pay to ride the lifts?

    Seems like a positive.
