    ^^^^ Ill update.

If there is someone who is looking for a pass, they could maybe donate something to a nominee who is not a good fit for a pass.

Uglymoney is all set up with the other side for this winter and would not get much, if any use. But, there are other ways to stoke a mag out.

The thoughtfulness of Ott and this group is heartwarming and appreciated.
I decline the nomination however because I think there are others who are needful of a pass; I am not.
Looking forward to travelling and skiing with fellow mags out of a heated Transit here in retirement.
Thanks for making this generous opportunity available Ott,
    Jimmy

Hey all. Looking for one more nomination. If that does not come in, I gonna split the final base into two 4 days and send one to tgapp to spread some love and will use the other to hook up my delinquent irl friend. That said, if we find someone who is deserving and could use a base pass, it will go to them. Or, if there is someone who wants to get a pass, they can make a donation to some of these nominated, but declined maggots. I can help with details in a PM.

I have a week left to figure this all out. Looks like it ended up being two full and one base this year. Amazing contributions from the community here.

Words have escaped me the past few days thinking about how generous you all have been to me over the past year and when I saw this thread I was completely blown away.
Thank you guys, seriously, thank you.

Sure, but I need an actual handle to contact. My brain bandwidth is small this time of year. MCb4fuwe2i4bfiuw bounced back (or would, cause I never tried).

Anyone know who did the Great Migration?

ex-powderbroker was nominated for the EuroBBI skilorship last year but declined; don't know if he was nominated for this or not. He does volunteer a lot of his time to help keep this board running and would be a very worthy choice, seeing as how TGR hasn't given him so much as a hat for his years of service.

Dudes, I got a pass last year when I was out work and had a blast with my brother. It was sick and this community rules.

Someone else needs to ski for free this year because I’m a working man again.

I only wish I could have donated.

How about Peruvian? Tight with a dollar but posts lots of stoke, both ski and bike.

Not to rain on this kind recommendation but Peruvian strikes me as “wise” with his money more so than lacking of funds. He works hard and has a mastermind early retirement plan that motivates him to save where he can. If TGR wants to reimburse him for his bash badge + he probably wouldn’t say no, but he may not be the right target audience for this level of generosity.

I volunteer to drive us to DV so he can catch an extra hour of sleep on the way if this were to come to fruition.

I am aware of all of that but it seems not many dentists stepping up with recs.

I appreciate the nom, but respectfully decline. Better to go to someone that needs it or maybe someone like a new mom or dad that wouldn’t buy one but would use the savings for child care while they ski. Baby pics playing jn the snow while wearing a down onesie a requirement if they accept.

^^^ excellent recommendation. being a new parent is hard work and there is a ton of baby costs. I love the toddler in the snow. My kid had a down one piece their first winter and I fondly recall them sliding down hill on their tummy and thought - they will be a skier.

It is not just about money - one is going to Harry. He could 'afford' a pass, but would otherwise not buy one, having resign himself to living back in the mid west. This year, he will get out west at least one more time to ski with his friends after hooking up so many people from this board at his place in BS over the years.

So even if a new parent otherwise has the money, or a person might have the funds, if we can get the on snow one more winter, or this winter instead of having a gap, this pass is for that kind of person

And ya know, all the good stuff - like they are a decent person, has or will hook up people here and irl, and snow is a source of balance or solace, or peace, or joy, to whatever for them. I think we still have a week.

Words cannot describe how humbled I am by this. Several days ago I received a PM from Ottime telling me I had been nominated by multiple maggots for this pass.

My first thought was that I am not worthy. Certainly not financially.

But Ottime had me reflect deeper, would accepting this pass make a positive change in my life, and the answer to that question is yes.

    I’ve never skied Colorado.

    I’ve never skied Utah.

    I’ve never skied Tahoe.

    I’ve only skied Jackson once.

At age 66 I am getting old and feeble, and if I don’t ski those places this year I will be even older and more feeble when I do.

So yes, a pass would make a positive change in my life. I humbly accept this nomination from my friends.

I’m shocked that Harry hasn’t skied in CO, UT, Jackson, or Tahoe! Seriously wtf. If this pass incentivizes the checking off of some major bucket list slopes, I can’t imagine a better use for it plus for a guy that seems to always be helping out other people on the board. Hope you make it out to Tahoe and we all get to meet the Legend !
