I’m only 5’ 10” on a good day, but I still prefer all my skis in the 181-184 cm straight pull length range.

I also like my park skis to be reasonable all mountain skis, so that’s probably why I have the above preferences.
dollos might be a smidge short for your liking, a true 178.5 in the 180. im 5'9" and like my shortest all mtn / jib skis to be at least my height but in reality a 176 on3p is the shortest I like to go.

if armada interests you check out the new kimbos, they come in a 182

unless I skied 100% park if you're skiing around the mountain it makes sense to go at least -1cm from true center even if the rec mount point is true center imo

Won’t lie. Bought a pair of Edollos and stood on them in plastic a few years ago.

Probably should have kept them, but just seemed a bit short for me at 178cm straight pull

I know this isn’t Newschoolers, but any old men excited about a new park ski setup for 2025? I’m pretty happy with my J Ski Allplay but always curious about the next best thing
Check out the 4FRNT Switch. It's a really solid old man park ski.

I have a great time on my Deathwish 104. It can do park laps and then rally the rest of the mountain.

    Anyone tried those kimbos?

Skating is pretty amazing ski training. Ironically the more flatground/street the better (unless you're boosting airs out of the bowls). Lots of jumping and landing off kilter and often deeper in a squat.

During the pandemic I was skating like 2 hours a day and got way better than I ever was a teenager/20 something. I've been slacking lately, but I did take a skateboard on our spring break trip to London and was waking up early to skate Southbank before the kids woke up. I was too out of skate shape to really be cool though. I just went rolling around today for a bit.

I think all the blindside/backside tricks make your switch skiing way better. BS 180, nollie BS 180, FS Halfcab. You just have to lean into the unknown with a balance that far exceeds what you need for skiing.

I learned how to kickflip at 33, then spent the next 2 years trying to learn how to do a good one. Maybe someday I'll learn how to do a good one consistently...

somewhat unique thing to the dollos (for a modern jib ski) is they don't have any tail rocker.. so they might ski a bit longer back there compared to a 181 on3p or whatever with a decent amount of tip and tail rocker

doubt anyone has time on the kimbos since they are this years zero ski.. don't think they were at any demos this year. but I love my strangers and if they're a more jib focused stranger I think a lot of people will like them

I’m getting a set of 177 k2 reckoner 102 for an old man job ski. The softest ski I could find, short to make me feel young, ski forwards impressively well and are super fun switch.
