Ms’s CF and I had been waiting for the monsoon pattern to break so we could get some bigger rides in, backpacking, etc. in. This weekend the pattern shifted…But, my wife ended up in the ER and hospital with an infected kidney stone on Friday. Sespis alert and all that. 1st Sx to remove it wasn’t a success so they placed a stent to let the infection clear out some more and will try again in the next few days.

A bit annoyed w/ her primary care who thought her symptoms were a stubborn UTI. Doc’s at the hospital were all like WTF?

Nah. Cuz in reality, thanks to the modern American legal system, she'll STILL walk away with 1/2 his stuff and 18 years of child support/alimony payments to boot. She'll play victim and somehow find a way to blame him for her actions. Accountability is kryptonite for women like that.

Getting sick on vacation annoys me. The last time I was sick was 18 months ago when I got Covid in Patagonia, currently on vacation and I’ve come done with a full blown cold. Looks like in the future I’ll be that guy that wears an n95 on flights and trains.

Absolutely; got Covid last month 3 days into a cruise while out on the North Sea. Much worse than my first bout - GET YOUR DAMN VACCINATION!! - still feeling some lingering effects.
