Electrical advice needed. We have 270 ah and a 2000w inverter. What power induction cooktop should we consider? Maybe a very small microwave too?
We have propane stove for longer cooks but rather save that for the grill and firepit.

A typical 1500 watt induction will burn through your 270 ah very quickly. Stick with propane unless you are plugged into 110 and be sure you have big enough cables from the batteries to the inverter.

See photos of what I'm working with. AC to north/ south track around 13", looks like I could slide bars east/west 5", that might get me 24" total. 3 crossbars in total, back two are adjusted to when I did a test fit for current Yakima Spacecase. I like the Packasport idea and rear access could be advantageous. Maybe I can score a 24" model used.![]()
Awesome. FWIW, I thought the ProBar was plenty strong, nice design - - I ended up switching to Yakima HD crossbars and Skyline bases just to get a quick release type base, but I didn't think the ProBar had any drawbacks. I had to trim my ProBar crossbars down a little, and they cut easily with a chop saw, though a hacksaw would do just fine too.
Wow, 70s RV technology was next level. Blackwater sanitized in your exhaust? Sign me up! https://www.thedrive.com/news/cultur...ust-on-purpose
That's hot shit!
Basecamo Bunkhouse is progressing. Now that the stovepipe is installed I know where to make the hearth

I make ski racks that bolt to the corner jack brackets on slide-ins. Mostly FWC. Doesn’t look like you have corner jack brackets but could still use the same setup.

Can confirm that Kya is alive and well and that his ski racks can carrythefuckinshitoutoffuckinshit
We could try and figure it out. Depends on how your rear wall is setup overall, and if you have the heating unit attached back there.

How much road grime do you guys get on them in that spot? My parents ran a hitch-mounted ski rack for a while and that thing murdered skis.
Yeah, too much road salts in the upstates for that rather sturdy looking rack.
Any recs for the 12 volt diesel heaters that China is flooding the market? Planning on Amazon so if it's a lemon I can send it back.
^^they are essentially all the same
Copy that. We could do the rack on whichever side is opposite the heating unit. If the door opens that way it would likely hit the rack/skis but as long as you’re conscious of it and not flinging it open it open like a madman, it might not be a problem.

They will definitely pick up the road grime. I found it wasn’t much worse than a roof mounted system. Could easily protect the skis with a simple sock style bag if a person was really worried about it.

this looks sweet especially if you could get it for 50 or so
Yeah, seems like a simple binding cover would be enough for most trips. Places like Silverton that are on a muddy dirt road I can just put the skis inside I guess. I'd really like a box mounted on the back but haven't figured out a way to do that w/o blocking other necessary things like brake lights.
