This lady, who doubles as my mother in law, turned 91 today. She came here from Ireland sixty something years ago with nothing and got married and had a rather large family. Her husband was a successful accountant in NYC and all of her children are successful professionals (some retired). She ruled with an iron fist and gave that up ten years ago. She is a grandmother, great grand mother, and surrogate mom and grand mother to many. She has adopted lots of folks of the Irish diaspora as her own and is a legend within the Irish community in New Jersey. I had the pleasure of cooking her birthday supper today and celebrating the mile stone. Every day is a mile stone at 91, or so I have heard.![]()
