Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.
Nice paint job! How much did that set you back???
That's such a great looking car. IIRC had some of the most comfortable seats I've ever seen.
Bad news from my Audi sales guy. He said the entire 4 series, including S's and Allroads, is discontinued after 2025. No more cabriolets either.

How much do you think that is with the pop top 4matic. I like it and really want a new surf/camping van.
Ooof, $75k used...

Unfortunately I've never seen a Metris in 4matic.
I'll throw 4 studded tires on this one and see what happens this winter.
I felt pretty fortunate to pick this one up for about $50k. It's a 2020 pandemic fleet vehicle that got converted. Only had 2,500 miles, but I negotiated a longer warranty and all the services because it's a MB.

Thanks, me too. In a town where everyone owns a Sprinter I wanted something that my wife and mother would drive, would fit in a normal parking space/garage, and that I could put in my garage.
I drove an '85 VW Vanagon Westy for 25 years, so this feels normal to me. It's a little tight inside camping, but I like to pitch the Moonpod awning as well as a big tarp wing.
It's been a running joke that it looks like an airport shuttle. Honestly the fit and finish feels less Mercedes and more Diamler work van. I'd guess the Sprinters feel similar.

Helped The Kid with the purchase of their first car. A lot nicer than my first car and Volvo safe. ‘07 xc70 with 192K on the clock, all records, and a second set of wheels with excellent snow tires. They are stoked

That's awesome!
Fantastic! Looks like it's in great shape. There really isn't anything better than a Volvo wagon to put a new teenage driver into!!! Doesn't hurt that it's crazy capable in the snow BUT if God forbid something happens, they definitely stand the best chance in something like this. A 240 would be top of my list if they weren't so hard to come by these days, so the XC70 is probably one of the best current options out there IMO. Hella comfortable too! Your kid (and his buddies) are gonna love it! Especially when it comes to tossing ski gear in the back or on top.
Another (perhaps unintended) bonus is that with that mileage, there will be some maintenance at some point, and it'll be a great platform to learn to fearlessly wrench on Euro cars. Have him bookmark FCP Euro, IPD, and Rockauto to save $$$. If you need any OEM tech manuals, hit me up. I have a great dedicated Volvo laptop that has everything. Same goes for the rest of you!
Volvo, boxy but good

I know I’m raising them right when their first requirement for a car was one that they can comfortably sleep in. It was funny going for test drives and having The Kid fold down the back seats and lay down back there. Some owners were like, WTF?! Dirtbags unite!

Anybody have a line on a wheel arch trim piece, front drivers, ‘13 Audi a4 allroad, for much less $$$ than I’m seeing them on eBay? Nice to fix that for less than $150.
Hopefully my kid learned his lesson there. Somehow it fell off without his notice, though he had noticed it get loose and floppy. What could have been a minor PITA ghetto fix with adhesive or some well placed fasteners - on par with a car with over 170k - is now gonna cost real money.
focus.
I buy stuff like that from wreaking yards. Do a Google search.

Google has certainly been searched. No wrecking yards around here.

You’re a nice dad. I’ve told my kid that I’m not going to fix things on her 2001 e46 wagon if she breaks them or abuses the car. She can pay to fix them.
