If they did I wonder what it would be made to look like, I-70 traffic?

There's just something great about a State Fair from up north. We took our son to the State Fair here to ride kiddie rides and petting zoo and stuff and it was absolutely lame. I've been to county fairs in NY/OH/MI that would blow it away.

They even hold it at Atlanta Motor Speedway, where friggin Smokey and the Bandit One and Two were filmed, and you think they have a demo derby or even a homemade hot rod race? Hell no. Lame.

Haven't been to Skaneateles in more than 10 years. Wasn't sure if it was still there. There was a Doug's 1.3 miles from my house but that one became JD's (Doug's son) and then closed shortly thereafter.

Going for a hike on a sunny day, eating fresh fried fish at a local bar and washing it down with a UC seems like a great afternoon to me.

Plotter Kill Preserve - it’s not that far from Thacher, maybe 15 miles north. a really nice, lush place. trails are in great shape/well maintained. we’ll come back for sure.

the flat-ass creekbeds remind me of Watkins Glen

Nice. I still haven’t been to Watkins Glen but probably will soon. I wrote a blog post about walking around Robert H Treman last week. Harvey44 is in the process of editing it- should be up soon

Can anyone give me info on riding a bike through Watkins Glen State Park? Can I ride from WG through the Main entrance out one of the trails heading west and ride out the North entrance?

Not unless you're Superman. The main entrance is down in town and the other is a few hundred feet up the gorge.

Pretty sure not. The Gorge Trail is walking only, and usually a bit over stuffed with humanity. There are likely some rideable aspects on the upper part, campground area, but I'm pretty sure the rim trails are walking only also.

The state park website is terrible saying how there is biking in the park but then not having any info regarding where, what trails, etc. I thought maybe the 'Finger Lakes Trail' might be rideable but it sounds like it's not.

I haven’t been to Watkins Glen yet. Robert H Treman had all kinds of signs telling you what to do- no bikes on trails etc….

Yeah, same same in all the gorge parks. These trails would be shitty on a bike anyway. That's not to say I haven't thought about a late night stealth dh down a few of them.

Fwiw, except for the swimming hole, those pics look very similar to Watkins.

It would've been great if the only rain cell in 200 miles hadn't sat over the place for 2 hours. Probably half the people left and then the weather broke and it was beautiful for The Englishtown Project set. It was nice to see my old friends and finally got to meet Michael Falzarano and talk for a few minutes.
