you ever read a review of a BBQ joint where someone complains that they only have picnic tables, the food comes on paper plates, and the menu is small? That’s how you ignore.

The glowing ones are from the A students and the shitty ones are from the F students, of course.

Seriously though, when I was a high school teacher I sometimes had to stomach a negative evaluation, and it's a blow to the ego when you are sincerely trying to be fair and do your best. If I got the same comment on two or three evals, I made an effort to address it. If it was a one-off, I figured the problem was theirs.

I was a geology field camp TA for 3 seasons in grad school, and that’s basically how I digested reviews, too. I think I grew up a lot between the first two seasons. I had one very negative review that I had to concede made some valid points. But I could quietly learn from it rather than really facing the music because he complained about everything. All any of the other staff or faculty ever commented on was an all-caps sentence demanding Heinz ketchup, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!

UPS for the millionth time in this thread. Had big plans to replace all the suspension bits on my wagon last weekend. Ordered with plenty of time to make. Arrived to UPS depot last week. Couldn't figure out why it refused to go out for delivery, and online chatbot is worthless and customer service # REFUSES to get you to a real person no matter what you do. Took days for it to get flagged as undeliverable so THEN customer service finally allowed me to get through to someone yesterday. Ends up the shipper accidentally swapped my billing (a PO) and shipping addresses. Somehow UPS managed to magically get 1 of my 3 packages to my house yesterday so I tried tracking down the rest. They said I'd have to go the customer office at the hub from 8-9 last night since it should be in some special room. Drive about 45 minutes to get there. I was there from 8 to about 9:30 when the guy there finally gave up saying he thinks the package is lost and may be getting shipped back to the sender. Of course, tracking still shows it as being in limbo here.

Annoying because this was a sizable order that I finally got around to saving up and ponying up for. Got skunked on getting it done last weekend, and I probably will this next one too. Ordered bump stops too from a dealer about 45 minutes the OTHER way from my house. Went to go pick them up and they only ordered 1 of them so they had to order the other one and I'll have to make yet another trip. FFS. Can ANYBODY get their orders straight these days?

kid got excited for some pro deal stuff & then realized getting a roof box at 40% off was muted by a $175 delivery charge [& Yakima HQ is 10mins from us (tho admittedly that’s not where it would ship from)]

I think you gotta get your shipper involved to get it sorted — since they are the client in that contractual arrangement.

You're right. When I tried changing the delivery address originally, the system wouldn't let me. It said the shipper had to do it. Of course it was after hours for FCP by then. Called this AM and they're not answering, making me leave a VM. Maybe cuz of Juneteenth? However, I just checked UPS website again and NOW it finally gave me an option to reroute to a UPS store (for $6 each for the privilege), but we'll see if they can manage to even find it to begin with. Hopefully it's not lost in package purgatory. I'll be stoked if these packages make it to me before the weekend, or at all; hopefully not destroyed.

This could go in the wife thread, but it's also annoying. And it's annoying to always look for the right thread. I have all my passwords saved in a pw manager. I go to log into my Xfinity account (fuck Xfinity by the way, those fuckers are annoying). Password doesn't work. Wife had reset it recently because she didn't know it. I've been on her case for years to get a password manager, but she refuses. So now we are going through the rigamarole of resetting the password, which of course she can't remember what she set it to. So. Cue circus music and annoying reset procedure.

Recently got rid of Xfinity completely. Moved youngest kid to Mint mobile and got DirectLink fiber broadband.

    Fuck off, Comcast.

Fuck Xfinity. Still stuck with the fuckers. Fidium keeps showing on a map that I'm in their service area. And I keep submitting a pre-order. They can't tell me when they are going to actually hook up my portion of the street.

OMG the passwords, this one I fell deeply.

I'm old school, I keep all my login info in a little book at my pc. (DON'T TELL ANYONE PLS lol!)

She on the other hand.. It seems almost weekly, anytime she needs to re enter a password things very quickly devolve into a massive shit show. She has gotten slightly better - now she writes down her passwords but they're on random scraps of paper or other papers that happen to be within reach at the time.

It's stressful, kinda scary tbh and funny all at the same time.

Don't worry, we won't tell. lol

My wife is afraid to restart her phone and laptop because she'd have to reenter passwords. Fkn annoying.

Today I was annoyed because old me gets wiped out after moving a couple of rocks, 2 150 pounders and a 300 pounder that's been in my way for a few years. I'm terracing a sun baked hill along the driveway and the best way to stop it from washing down is rocks. I'm too cheap to buy a pallet so I'm harvesting them from around the property. BTW digging then screening gravel is annoying.

This morning I needed gas. Stopped to the station up the road, started pumping. I was on empty so it was gonna take a litttle while so I spent some time cleaning all the bugs and shit off the windshield, headlights and rear window. Went over to the pump and it had only pumped 23 cents worth of gas. Tried a couple times to make it work but no dice so I went inside. Lady behind the counter says, "Oh, that pump's out of order." That was annoying.

Ya gotta love it when you're in the middle of a call and your phone just shuts down. It won't restart either, it's just dead. Fukn wonderful. Apparently it's a thing with Pixel 6s and the latest Android update. You'd think google could update their own phones without bricking them. grrr Oh and we got rid of the landline a few weeks ago and I work from home. GRRR

Naw the password book is rock solid. No one's hacking that!

(but if I lose it or it gets stolen yeah I'm pretty screwed)

And thinking of losing it, I thought I was in the wife thread when I posted the above. Huh, ok, maybe it's time to look into a pw manager..

Sooner rather than later, mi amigo.

IMO, you can't have secure passwords if you keep them in a book - I mean... who is going to type in a 24-character randomly generated pass every time from a book? You probably wouldn't even be able to type it in correctly most of the time.

I had a similar thing like that in a freezing sideways rain once. The pumps were running so slow, just like that, and I had to wait it out because the next gas station was too far away.

What is this 24 character randomly generated password you speak of? I kid, I kid. I appreciate the nudge, I'll look into this.
