Think of yourself as dead. You have lived your life. Now, take what's left and live it properly. What doesn't transmit light creates its own darkness.

Particularly sage advice in a thread for married guys.
The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there.

    Kill all the telemarkers
But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers
    Telemarketers! Kill the telemarketers!
Oh we can do that. We don’t even need a reason

Whenever I try to throw furniture or kitchen stuff out, she always says no. Because her sister ‘might’ want it. Then we end up keeping the junk forever.

I'll tell you what, I don't remember my wife being crazy when we met but she was crazy as shit for years. But lately she's seeming pretty sane and normal. So maybe there is light after darkness.

    Or else it's a trap.

I went through that. Last year we had a HUGE crt television that I wanted to get rid of. My wife handed me a firm no as she thought somebody might want it. Yes, a television that she had before the internet and is not compatible with anything. Since Im an early riser I loaded that fucking TV into my truck one morning and found a dumpster. Two days later she noticed the TV was missing and was furious when I told her I pitched it. Now I'll tell her "unless that god dammed thing finds a home before I get home from work (I travel) Its going in a dumpster". Luckily there is a large build out going on where I live so finding a dumpster is easy. She gets mad for a day or so and then gets either horny or hungry (she's not a good cook) and everything is good.

I must have told this story somewhere up-thread but fuck it: wife kept the hand push lawn mower she used for making money in her sub-urban neighborhood growing up, made me use it to cut the small patch in a our back yard before we tore it out. It was an f'ing beast and did a piss poor job of grass cutting. It stayed in the shed for several decades before I finally convinced her to have a local artist make a painting of it, and then take it to the dump. I then made the mistake of not going with her, and the ass hole dude at the dump's check in gate remarked, "that's gotta be worth a lot it's so old" ....... took me another year and a half to finally get it tossed.

We had a giant first generation "flat" screen, where the screen was flat but there was still a huge TV behind it. She bought it in 2006 and paid way too much for it. We actually had a legit plasma screen in the basement I had gotten from my parents ready to replace it for a year before the giant TV finally broke and I could get rid of it.

I feel ya. My wife still gets vitamins from crazy overpriced sources she finds on her SM feeds that are literally 3x-4x the cost of the same stuff i take (mostly omega3 and Vit D)... but it works out because she takes them so rarely that its cheaper than my vitamin budget. Similarly, she buys organic whey isolate with probiotics that is crazy expensive, but again, goes through a 2lb tub every 4-6 months, so i really cannot complain when i go through a 6lb bag every 2 months or so.

Total costs for us are about the same, i just get 3x-4x the mileage out of my stuff. And no, she doesnt want to know that her stuff is overpriced/underdosed and there is a better way.

I've known a couple of women who carried around paint samples in their purse I assume at all times and they were damn handy

she would say " choose this color and that color " and so why

"cuz you can see the flecks of that color and the flecks of this color "

and of course she was right
