I am sort of curious as to who had that built, but not really.

There are the seeds of an award-winning documentary here if some filmmaker could get this guy to go along with it. Sex, old money, hubris, an architect cynical enough to take the money, it has it all

Meh, we have advanced as a society enough that we can waterproof any area we need to, if that’s what’s desired. Alternately, quality appliances shouldn’t be a problem for the mcmansion crowd.
Laundry goes where the laundry is generated, near the bedrooms (unless the house has staff).

That's hilarious. I think that's the first time I've gotten a belly laugh from a Zillow listing

Yeah they are. On the other hand you don't see a lot of walk-in fridges in houses. Weird house. Eighteen million bucks is a shit ton of money for that place

And from what I can see, it is RIGHT ON 550, as in you could hear people talking in their cars driving by.
It’s a ‘look how rich I am’ house, not a quality of life house, I think.

    So, I have the listing?

Yes, but I really need you highlight the fridge.

Ah yeah, I saw that. I’ll include it in the photos.

Great, but, like how many times?

How many times should I include the fridge in the photos? Once?

    How about twenty times?

    [1/2M commission] How about 10 times?[1/2M commission]

Fine. But one of them literally needs to be the inside of the fridge.

    Jesus, Craig. Ok.

I don’t get the glass door fridge idea. Fridge is a mess of food and I only want to see it once I open the door

Same thing for glass cabinet doors. Sure it’s cool for glassware and dishes. But I don’t want to see cereal boxes.

PS. Hmmmmmm. Walk in fridge is chill.

I really got a kick out of the pic from inside the fridge looking out.

I remember seeing an article in the NYT on glass door refrigerators as the hot amenity
Maybe they should do an article on if you’re gonna blow a shitton on building a mansion that hiring an experienced designer was a small price to make it decent

Oh, one more thing: I'm actually going to have my nephew take the photos. He has about 300 followers on Instagram so I think he's pretty good. And I can save a few hundred bucks, right?

The whole kitchen appliance style flip-flopping is a bit bizarre. Sometimes equipping your kitchen with appliances that make it look like a restaurant seem to be the cool thing. Other times the appliances are made to be as innocuous as possible: like fridges that are indistinguishable from the other cabinetry in the kitchen. And, of course, whatever you decide on it will look old-fashioned in a decade and you'll need to do a $100k makeover to make your perfectly usable kitchen stylish again.

The local Habitat For Humanity store relies on this. As soon as the CEO’s second wife walks into the 8,000 SQ foot mountain palace, EVERY trace of wife 1’s designs or taste needs to be eradicated, ASAP.
The stuff that reaches Habitat is insane, perfectly good Wolf stoves that have been used for like 15 hours, etc, etc.
