I’m sure I’ve told this story before but the downstairs bath off the kitchen, you know, the kind of place that should be more of a powder room, had a full blown tub jammed into it. We had just redone all the hardwood floors and had the heat blasting for days to help cure them while we were away for days. I walked into that bathroom and it looked at first like a major water leak had covered the floor with water. I took one step into the bathroom, slipped and fell on my ass. The entire floor around that tub was covered in lube. Apparently it had all leeched into the floor and sat for however long in a cold house. After cranking the heat up, it expelled itself. So apparently these folks were doing some massive orgy work in the bathroom near the kitchen as well as the master bath and of course the master bedroom that had been hand painted to look like a castle with gaudy fountains and prancing horses.

It’s like 500’ across the park, a good drive would be well into the homes across the way. And apparently they want to put a playground in the park, so nothing in the way.

what a weird listing for a weird bachelor pad. other than sales rep I can’t think of any reason for that many Milwaukee tools.

Having a rack for convenience is one thing, having it to display a bunch of sunglasses you can buy at a gas station is another. That might be the douchiest part of this whole listing, and that's saying something. Nothing screams tasteless like owning a bunch of wrap around "sports" glasses.

If someone snagged that for $3.5 it seems like a screaming deal?

Is there a bunch of fine print I didn’t read? Like it’s falling into the ocean?

Do these houses ever completely collapse one night killing everyone, or do the floors just get more and more crooked until it gets ridiculous? Are slopes ever declared non permittable, or can you get anything done with enough money?

    Zillow/Redfin Gems

Anybody want to start a cult? It’s not as large or amazing as ananda or the fellowship of friends apollo property, but could be a good starting spot:

Well, sometimes houses in that general area come off their foundation and slide down the hill into other peoples homes. Like this one in 2008.

And their insurance company didn’t pay - said that they weren’t insured against “earth movement”.

I used to look at those houses above Broadway Drive sitting on stilts (like this gem) and cringe thinking about what a good earthquake will do.

Brutalist cubed. I like this a lot and so would Delia Deetz, but would still prefer it tucked away in the trees instead of looking like a hickey on the countryside.

    ^^^ The interior isn’t bad.
The exterior is post modern cement castle or country jail.

PS. No way that piano can stay in tune.

I generally love when people really run with their own desires (and do in this case) but that is just not my style personally. I think Maz is onto something where the location is just off.

If you buy that house the crown of Most Hated Person in Little Compton goes with it for free. If it didn't look like a nuclear recycling facility from the road it might be better, it's very visible.

It’s the landscaping. It’d work as a barnacle if it were surrounded by modern landscaping, but I’m guessing that’s out for zoning/ag conservancy rules? So instead there’s just weird stuff?
