Yeah but I think the thought that they could spend their way to a Super Bowl was a big driving force in their purchase. History has shown it don’t matter how much money you got in the bank. Winning in the NFL is hard and buying a championship just doesn’t work.

Daniel Snyder proved that how many times over?
If the ownership group really thought they could buy a Lombardi, maybe they're not that smart.

Russ would make a great backup to Deshaun.

    Kind of a yin-and-yang vibe.

The official stance from Cleveland’s head office is that in no way “Let’s ride” will be interpreted literally.

Definitely the creepiest/cringey QB room in the NFL.

True, but you do not acquire 60 Bill buy throwing 85 mill away.

Russ did not play a single down on his new Denver contract, the last 2 yrs were the leftover of the Seattle contract . And rumor says Russ is shopping teams and would play at league min, 1.65 mill, sticking Denver for the balance. 37ish mil

i'm a russ hater through and through but if a team in need can get him at league min for a year or two, they would be so incredibly stupid not to. he's not 2018 russ and you probably don't want him as the leader on that side of the ball but the dude can still play better than most rostered qbs out there and a career resurgence is still very much in play.

Ss it's been said elsewhere, Sean Payton's villain arc reached full completion when he made Russell Wilson into a sympathetic character.

The guy they should fire is the guy who gave him that contract before taking a single snap in orange/blue. Didn’t have to, wasn’t getting ahead of anything IMO.

Ding ding ding. That made no sense unless it was part of the trade deal.
FYI each team will get about $350 million/year from the various television contracts. The contracts expires in 2033.
Owning an NFL team appears to be a good investment.

Or Art Modell. The only man who could turn owning a NFL franchise into a poverty case.

At the start of last season the Raiders were worth 6.2 billion up 22% from the previous year.

This. I’m seeing a lot of “worst trade ever” going around, and it wasn’t a good trade, but the unnecessary extension was absurd the second it happened. As many of us on this forum expressed at the time.

Sounds like Flacco wants to be back on the Browns and the feeling might be mutual.

I know they will likely want a Deshaun style QB2 since they’re designing the entire offense around him, but it’s hard to argue against what Flacco showed you this past year.

Also, if Deshaun were to ever get hurt, you’d feel morally clean rooting for the QB again with Joe under center. Win win.
