Looking forward to when they drop some factory finds again. Hoping for some Jeff 118 in a 191.

So, who’s the first guinea pig to drop $849 of their hard-earned cash on the new BG?

Sorry, all you guys with “ON3P family connections” don’t count. [emoji6]

What size boot are you again? If ~303mm you’re welcome to swap with me at Stevens some time.

First two days on the previous generation BG118 Tours in excellent snow and they rip! Felt surprisingly good in tracked out areas and soft groomers too.

Kartel 108: Scott said the furthest back to go is -2 from the line...anyone tried this?
Looking for a more traditional feel and better pow performance - I felt too far forward in the last big storm. I know the tips won't drive no matter what so that's not the point.

That’s where mine have been for the last 8 years. Allows you to drive the ski more.

That's really the max though. I have some at -1.85 or something and it's really not great on wetpacky snow. The softer the snow the better though. No issues at all this last weekend at meadows with the champagne snow.

Today, I’m afraid I had to Cease & Desist. It was glorious. These skis on soft, cut up snow enable ridiculous speeds and huge grins.

I took my '19 BGs out last week during the pnw dumpage and was reminded/blown away by their float. Those tips truly are unsinkable, it was unreal. One of the best runs on them was just flying down a groomed run with a couple inches of smooth, fresh snow on top and it felt like surfing on clouds.

However I don't really vibe with the chargeyness, I was getting frustrated in trees and more technical terrain where I wanted to slow down and work my way down the mountain, and they just wanted to go straight downhill as much as possible. I was losing control a lot more than I wanted.

They're a lot of fun in more open terrain but I don't see that as much as I used to after switching mountains (and just generally getting more into tree skiing).

The Jeffrey seems like it would fit my skiing style more but I also just wish there was a pintail design for a more playful powder ski, although I haven't really done enough research to say if there is or isn't yet.

If you play around with where you're applying pressure in a turn, you should be able to get them to pivot and release quite easily in soft snow. I find them to be a dream in tight trees.

not to open this can of worms again, but have you detuned the edges sufficiently, especially aft of the contact points?

Asyms can rally for sure, yet they should also be more than willing to schmooze around in trees.

What length BGs? My asym C&Ds turn super quickly for a 189. If I were on the 184 they would absolutely shred tight trees.

Yeah, check the tune. My 191 BGs are my favorite tree ski I own. Pivot on a dime when needed.

It’s probably just a style mismatch unless the tune was changed by a third party shop.

Which size? Could just be the Jeffery is a better style match.

Are you doing the two-foot-steer, from the center to balls of your heels, maneuvering? Light on your feet - hovering boards style..

fair point - if one wants more float from the back of the ski jeffeys could def be the ticket. The descriptions of the issues do not drag me in that direction though.

The tune question was more for it wanting to go down the fall line and causing him/you to be caught out. Asyms do not need to full speed all the time from my time on them, and their tails are dead easy to schlarve all over the place provided the tune is tolerably good - so it kinda sounds like they ought to be a perfect score of 5/7 for the intended use with some minor tweaks.

Ya know...I did get them tuned up last season and started getting frustrated with them after that. I'll try some detuning and see if that helps

    PSA:

The 2017 Asym Cease and Desists with the Longer Rocker Profiles are the best deep day pow ski of all time.

    That is all. Thank you

Ok, thanks - I'm set now on -2 as my softsnowski now. Enough to erase my doubts.
