Ya. Back when the Grateful Dead used to follow me around regularly, the most hardcore drug abusing people I've ever met were into health food and were anti-vax. "It's a conspiracy, man!" The health food I am sure gave them a slight edge in their unhealthy life style. However they were also probably the people most in need of vaccines.

I think you guys are describing addicts. They come in all forms. Ski addicts being the best and quite possibly the worst for your mechanical body also.

It’s all the hippies/soccer moms in California not vaccinating their kids with MMR, etc. because they’ve never seen life before vaccines and assume the diseases don’t exist,m annymore, until they do. MAGA avoids covid vaccines and Paxlovid, Libtards/California organic eating vegans think they know better than the IDSA and just avoid gluten/meat and everything will be fine.

About five years ago had my first, and probably only, patient with tetanus. Parents never vaccinated him. Ended up on a vent for several weeks but survived. Before we medevac’d him he told his wife to vaccinate all their kids per recommended schedule.

That’s way overly broad for the culprits here. The vast majority are connected in some way to Waldorf schools. That’s a hotbed of antivax. Outside of those (which is def comprised of hippies and/or soccer moms) I hear of very little to no antivax mentality. Some are def libtard/granola heads but it’s a subset. Hasn’t been an issue in public schools here at all

The Waldorf people drive me insane that’s all and have influenced the majority of the bullshit here. Just want to make sure they get full credit

But, I don’t think the FL surgeon general is a Waldorf dude.

someone should file a report regarding Joseph Lapado's medical license ( IF he has one.
I suspect a license may not be a requirement for Surgeon General - which is arguably primarily a political position )

do you disagree with the idea death is the final sign (?)
    ( it can't be a "symptom" in the physical world ;
to my training, a clinical sign is described by another / others )

I appreciate those who continue to 'beat the drum' -
covid remains in my region, and
people continue to die from covid
( it is not a Cold, and
    it is Not ' a mild 'Flu" ) .

    rock On, my friends...

Death is not a sign. It is a diagnosis. Lack of a pulse. No respirations. Fixed and dilated pupils. Those are signs. And death is very much a symptom--the light at the end of a tunnel, your past life flashing before your eyes while your kids are on their phones. And who knows what else dead people experience--who's to say you don't look down from the spirit world on your lifeless corpse and think OK, I;m dead. It's not so bad. Lucky for me I didn;t do our taxes; now my wife has to.

I should clarify that "death is a diagnosis" is the medical point of view. What death is from a philosophical point of view--well I could elaborate at some length. But I won't.

Your guys generalizations are funny. Most of the vax skeptics I know are in fact pretty well educated. Longtime local journalist friend of mine up and quit that career and now works for the forest service because he didn't agree with the paper's vax mandates. Similar stories for teachers I know, except while they didn't quit, none of them are stoked on having been coerced into taking the vax to keep their career. Many people with college degrees I know, may not be super skeptical of the vax itself, but freely admit that the lockdowns and fraudulent marketing to convince people to take the vax as well as the coercion are a huge problem, and violate the geneva convention. You can't have informed consent without accurate information.

There is a huge difference between people who are skeptical about this vax and the way it was implemented, vs being preexisting anti vax in general.

but yea, keep saying its all drug addicts or something.

To Vaccinate or Not---The Rat Flu Odyssey Continues

I don’t think posting a wall of text about your anecdotal experience proves anything.

I work in a hospital. When broken down the vax rate is highest among the most educated, physicians. The rate descends with the level of education among staff.

I think Leroy has a valid point. There are a lot of supposedly well educated people with some very screwy ideas. RFK jr--Harvard Law comes to mind.
Scott Atlas comes to mind, and the Florida SG. It wouldn't shock me to learn that Leroy is well educated. Doesn't make the ideas any less screwy. The fact that well educated people believe something doesn't prove it's true. Think of all those clerics who made Galileo recant--they could all speak Latin so they must have been well educated. "And yet it moves."

Some of the dumbest people I've ever known were "Well Educated". Just listened to a recording of a black soldier saying that on his way to Europe he heard rumors of what the Nazis were doing but he thought that a well educated country like Germany could never do that. The human brain is a strange thing. I'll give you Dr Oz and Dr Phil and Dr Bruce Aronwald.

The thing is, its important to know when you are out of your area of expertise. Its also important to understand that being really smart is only half of the equation... you also have to then apply those smarts/expertise to the full and accurate data set. That second part is where the trouble comes from much of the time- when a really smart person meets a limited pool of information and forms faulty conclusions cause the data they used was bad.

Vaccines start being given when a baby is 2 months of age - the teacher should do their own research.
