My 1960 Willys CJ5 with the same motor, a Muncie M22 tight ratio 4 speed, 5.38's in the pumpkins, Rochester 2 barrel progressive, headers and mild cam did sub 6 seconds to 55 dropping it in 2nd and popping 4th. 215hp (to the wheels) and ~240lb of torque was enough to get the front wheels off the ground if I let it rip in 1st. I had to hit the OD (WARN 27% OD) at about 45-50 and it would start to shake not long after 55. It did 60 but it wasn't terribly confidence-inspiring above that even though the motor had lots more to give, the 5.38s had a lot to do with it too. That thing was all about the grunt, it would climb walls and tow triple its weight (slowly), if I could manage to keep my foot out of it it got 22mpg which was nice because that little 10 gallon tank under the drivers seat was pretty useless.![]()
