Blewett snowpack is languishing, but what's left provided some fast and smooth turns yesterday. Almost spring like, corn-adjacent snow. Hope the refresh pans out later this week.

Any Seattle mags headed to the Idaho panhandle anytime soon? Phatty has a pair of skis that he wasn’t able to fit in his roof box when he came through in December that I’m hoping someone else might be able to drag over.

We drove the whole way. Snow tires were crucial with 6" of fresh on the road and only a few tire tracks ahead of us. Hiked up the summer trail in sneakers (but got wet) and bashed out the forest from Grouse.

It was fucking great today, dumping hard from 1400 to 1715 when I left. Still coming down and good cold temps.

You don't usually ski out of Heather Meadows, do you, kamtron?

Also who lost that BC120 mounted with a Shift a couple years ago at Crystal? My buddies may have found it today.

Deepest 9” I’ve ever skied today. Upslope winds scoured the ridgelines and it was a little

Where did you ski today? We skied Stevens and found close to boot deep powder on the upper half of the mountain. Dust on variable crust down below. Not a bad day.

Mission ridge was firing today. 10” to knee deep blower. One of the few times a year it’s good to be an east sider. Should be bluebird tomorrow.

Mission, deep drifts up high, wind deposited snow in protected trees lower down yielded 12-18” with no wind affect and no bottoming on the crust. Density was less lower down but so is the coverage.

It was but, I’m skiing on a rib injury from last week and I’m getting less tolerant of crowds and powder day frenzy. I change gears and went stash farming

Got out to xtal with low expectations and was blown away. Over a foot of cold dry snow. Some wind effect and a hard base, but really really good quality overall. Awesome day.

I'm 90% sure it was, and with a Shift too. My memory could be bad though. Pic below from my buddies. They said they turned it in to mountain ops.

Headed up skiing with fam at Stevens tomorrow. Are there thin spots with gravel/rock on main runs? Trying to decide on skis to bring.

Crystal was fun today. Weird, but fun.

I did my usual move and went straight to 6 which was nice bc it was loading by 915 or so, but oh man was all of Campbell Basin… weird. The SE wind left every wide open slope with huge wide wind drifts.

The ridge traverse was the best it's been in a long time, though the top few turns skied not very well a few turns in was pretty dang good. Consistent shin to knee deep.

Main runs are back to 98% filled in with the past few snow events since the atmospheric river. I’ve been skiing my good gear the past few visits with no concerns. Still lots of shallow rocks, stumps, etc. off trail to make things interesting.

You ditched me. But that’s okay. It really wasn’t much of a frenzy though. Nobody was skiing under chair three. Legit face shots.

I did see a snowboarder under chair three but he was mostly off the surface. Seriously like aired the entire run.
