That ski is really soft and has a 16m turn radius IIRC. I figure the ski just doesn't fit his style.

Def could be, also. Not sure I have a line on Line. I can get the Amer skis cheap and Moment is rad about taking care of ind. folk.

Backcountry has the ‘23 Blade Optic at $360 in all sizes. Not sure if they have changed anything other than graphics.

I rode my Renegades in day old chop today and it was a perfect reminder of why I need a different ski for these days (though that ski is an absolute blast in smooth, fresh snow and in the trees).

I'm not sure if I'll love it or hate it. I've learned that the only review that matters is mine.

I really like the J Friend, but 183 wasn't quite enough ski and the 189 seemed too big/heavy (probably mental). I'm a big fan of the Enforcer 110. I'm hoping the BO 114 lands somewhere between those skis.

I was tempted to do something extreme and go Reckoner 112, but $360 is hard to pass on.

Review to follow. Too bad I don't have them now. We're about to get dumped on.

My buddy demoed some Reckoner 112s and Manas this past week and just couldn't say enough about the Reckoners, he's set to snag a pair

Everyone should demo a reckoner. If I walked into a shop it wouldn’t be the ski that stands out. But holy hell do they ski great. I’d say it’s the most underrated line of skis out there. If k2 were out there demoing these skis they sell a crap load. I’d fully recommend the 102 to any ripper who likes to be creative in all conditions or my 74 year old mother. And the 112 is insanely good. Graphics are a bit polarizing, but every gen z kid I ride the lift with always comments how rad the top sheets are.

Ha, that's the same as I get with my Switch's that look like the artist was high when he drew the artwork.

I still want to ski the Reckoner. The 102 could be a park/daily driver and the 112 sounds like a fun, easy resort pow stick. I have to get on these Blade Optics first.

So these two skis are on the short list of what I want for my fun, park ski with the kids. Loved the 112 when I was able to demo out west. I'm stuck because I'm not sure how the 102 will handle the midwest man-made ice and read that the switch is much more park oriented than other all mountain twins. Thoughts?

IMO, the Switch is a pretty dedicated park ski, full camber, low rise tips. The only all-mountain nod is the -4 mount point.

I like them. Really a fun, light ski. In my quiver spot they're fine. I don't ski them all that often and I don't expect them to be hugely versatile.

If I were to do it again there would be other skis on the radar. The Blade Optic 96, the Reckoner 102 and the Wlidcat 101 would all be substantially more versatile, but still good park options. Even the Devastator would be a good choice if not a bit wide.

Probably not a ski I'd buy again, but I'm also not upset about owning it. I've had a lot of really fun days on it. It's definitely not for sale yet.

Tried to step up from Bent Chetler 120 184 to 192 and it's not gonna work out. Too stiff and longer cambered in the longer length.

The Reckoner 122 looks very nice, just wondering about the 190. This is a pow day ski, most pow days for me don't involve the 11am crud problem, and if it's blue then big steep alpine is available. I've got Sender Free 110 184 for Daily driver.

I liked the length and shape of the 192 BC, just wouldn't bend like I thought it should.

Justification for going longer is all about keeping speed up, not getting swallowed up by deep takeoffs/windlips. Reckoner seems like it will still be softish in the longer length.


Also, is the new 124 at 189 gonna be the ticket? The 122 are supah cheap.

I'd say go for it . The float great and are really easy to ski .they allow for any turn shape and are really fun and playful

BO118 is also in contention, where I see I'd rather spend the weight on the little more surface area, vs damp crud crushing ability.

I should add I'm a moderately little guy, but have a huge ego.

Lol. I'm 6' 160lbs on the 184cm. Because of the progressive mount there's a little less ski in front of me than I'm used to, but I haven't missed it yet. I doubt you'd need the longer length for flotation, but if I was mostly skiing big open faces I could see sizing up just for a little extra stability at speed.

So get both I guess, one for fun in the trees/chutes and one for tram laps.

Oh yeah, these are a long 184cm too. Same length if not a smidge longer than 186 Renegades.

Thanks, the BC 120 is holding down the 184 spot well (although I like how the k2 measures true). I got used to skiing the "imaginary" tip of these short tipped skis.

Maybe the Reckoner floats better, but I'm in Europe and where I normally ski there's not much competition on a pow day and lots of natural jumps. The more I float > the faster I go > the fastest I go > the farther I fly. This is a total quiver ski decision, but I'd want a "real" ski instead of those 130+ waisted monstrosities. So going longer is my solution.

I think I have zero-d in on the Reckoner as the ski that skis like a Bent Chetler, but won't be too stiff or short-rockered in the 190 range. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Vic, do you happen to have a picture on the 191 rocker profile, or anyone for that matter? Seems like all the reference photos for the 184.
