    I think they overpaid, personally.
Now I see what he’s all about. Agreed on overpaying but damn he good

Mentioning trades from Toronto - the Knicks are on fire since they traded for OG Anunoby - going 12-2 ever since. It was such a good trade for them and they're going to be legit contenders in the East. I have a lot of long-suffering friends who are Knicks fans so I'm fully on the bandwagon.

Knicks need another guy. Brogdon? (Trade Fournier, filler, and two picks?) Blazers take that?

I think a mid to late first rounder and Fournier would get it done...with some filler as you say to make salaries match as needed. Went to the Zers game last night and Brogdon is legit...also, at 6'5" he's a little more adaptable to various lineups.

I'll add, not that you asked, that Simons is one of the more frustrating players to watch live. His defense is abysmal...just gets cooked constantly, and if he's not putting up points, such as last night, it's really hard to have him out there if you want to win games.

Other observations...Ayton somehow fills up a stat sheet while appearing to play half speed. Thybulle is basically unplayable these days. His defense is no longer elite and he can't shoot for shit. I don't get the appeal...so many people at the Zers games are huge fans of his...by all means seems like a decent guy but we need him to make buckets and play D.
Damn shame, throwing away a perfectly good white boy like that

Embiid has torn meniscus in knee after Draymond falls on him going after loose ball against the Warriors.

I watched the game, it was great that GS got the win but Embiid was obviously hurt and shouldn't have been out there. Did it lead to the injury? Maybe coincidence but you play different when you're trying to gut out an injury.

Embiid is the MVP. Big criticism over “65 Game” rule for awards. Those awards impact salary. There will be pushback from player’s union to lower the number of games so guys don’t have to play hurt.

Very quietly Jarret Allen is in the middle of a 15 game double-double streak and the Cavs get Garland and Mobley back for the first time since early December. Watch out.

I know you really want to blame Draymond but it was actually Kuminga.

You're right! Draymond has actually been playing clean in the games I've watched. I hope he keeps his shit together, GS needs him contributing.

It probably won't last the second half but it's been fun watching the Lakers 2nd stringers beat on the Celtics to halftime.

2023/2024 NBA THREAD: WHO WANTS TO GO ON PARADE?!?

Sucks about Embiid getting hurt but it seems like he’s always hurt. I was curious so I looked up his games played by season - he’s just approaching 30 years old and has barely sniffed 70. Bummer. Does the flopping play into it? You end up on the floor half the game and bad things can happen. Not sure if I believe that but it’s a theory.

Cavs have won 14 out of their last 15 are are currently sitting in 2nd place in the East.

I realize given the stupid way the regular season means fuck all in the NBA that this is not anything to get excited about, but I wish I could.

Also, how in the hell is Jarret Allen not an All Star?

Would you want Lebron to come home again? Would it help or hurt the Cavs chances at this point and what would they need to give up to get him back? I think it's a net negative to have him go back but I don't really follow that team closely.

No, not at this point in his career or in the franchise's development since he left (again). I don't want to give up what it would take to get Bron back either.

Would it be fun to see him back, and do I think he could help? Absolutely, but I think the downside risk is too much.

The Eastern Conference playoffs are gonna be awesome this year. Knicks and Cavs rising, Embiid injured (ugh), Boston is overdue… Bucks still there but how will they be in a 7 game series as currently constructed? Should be fun. Really nice to have a more balanced league these days vs when the West was so much better.

As for my Warriors? Well it was a nice run. Curry is still a top player in the league and Kuminga has arrived. Beyond that there will be some tough decisions this off season.

The West is a huge roll of the dice - who the hell knows? I’d say Denver but it’s not easy to repeat.

Yeah and didn't get much better so far if they're trying to save the season. Buddy Held? Maybe.

Did LeBron get traded back to the Cavs? Just making sure I didn't miss that.
