the 5 minutes of all star game that i tuned into were truly awful. i was expecting a shitty product but that was way shittier than i could have ever imagined. why keep doing it at this point? just do the skills, 3pt, and dunk contests. or replace the full game with a 3v3 blacktop style tournament with some sort of incentive for players to actually try because what they got aint working.
    swing your fucking sword.

Vacation is finally over, some good games on free TV tonight. Suns and Mavs should be a good game.

And if they want a vacation, then just call it a vacation.

I think the LED court can be used for a monetary incentive. During the 24 second possession, a 3 foot diameter spot lights up past the three point line at random for something like three seconds, if a player can sink a shot from that spot the team gets a thousand bucks in the kitty. If they miss, the defense gets a thousand bucks. Last five seconds of the 24, a 10 foot line lights up and if someone drives and make a hoop inside the line, thousand bucks. They miss, the defense gets a thousand bucks. Shit like that. Forget keeping score with points, keep track of the money.

I dunno, something like that. I think the LED court was pretty cool.

That’s kind of a fun idea. Could also just do hot spot circles that light up where you could get extra points and $$$

I think I'm with you SUF. Remember when Kobe made his first ASG and came in wanting to prove himself to all comers?

I'm not sure there's enough money available to motivate these guys with bonuses. What if the L designed an ASG championship ring each year for the winners from some fashion house, and the losers got nothing? Give one to all past winners first and it would be like a club that only winners got to be in. Gotta win a game to get one.

Sometimes exclusivity is enough of a reward.

Another couple of good games on free TV tonight - Cavs vs Sixers early and Bucks vs Timberwolves late.

In the All-Star game, another idea is to make it first team to a certain amount of points, (I guess 200[emoji849]), because it works pretty good in the rising stars game. That way the game always ends on a walk/off shot. Of course, they’d have to be other incentives, monetary, higher playoff placement, something like that.

Just tuned in. Holy shit is Stephen A insufferable.

Didn’t mention the hottest team in basketball at all (the Cavs) and just ranted about Donovan going to New York (ignoring that he’s under control for 2 years, he’s on a better team and this whole New York stuff is based on something he said 3 fucking years ago as a possibility). FFS, ESPN is garbage television - wish this game was on something else.

Celtics sure look like the team to beat if health prevails. The addition of Xavier Tillman at the deadline was a good move as muscle against Giannis and Joel was their only weakness. Looking forward to seeing Doc Rivers flame out another team in the playoffs.

West is loaded. Denver, Minnesota, OKC, LAC, and Phoenix are all capable of making it to the finals. Phoenix seems least likely due to health and OKC is the team I would enjoy watching.

RJ is great, Breen is good too. I respect Doris too; but the entire enterprise is so tainted by Stephen A and his ilk it's unwatchable.

Pistons got screwed 2 nights in a row. The last one was particularly bad because it turned a W into a L.

I caught the last 30 seconds of the Cavs-Mavs game and holy shit, what a back and forth ending!

From Cleveland.com, "With Cleveland leading by one in the final seconds, the Mavericks forced a turnover on an inbounds pass. On the ensuing possession, Mavericks MVP candidate Luka Doncic whipped a pass inside to PJ Washington for the go-ahead layup. Two seconds remaining. Plenty of time, right?

    Apparently so.

Down by one, running full speed, Strus took a pass and launched from 59 feet, capping a scintillating fourth quarter that also included four consecutive 3s in about 60 seconds that turned a Mavericks’ 10-point lead into a one-possession game.

Strus started the comeback. And then he finished it."

The video is worth it, that was nuts. All net by Strus.

Rough homecoming for Kyrie (I think it's actually the first time he's appeared/played since coming back to play in CLE)
