What do folks think about the new A-Basin website? I realize that it takes some time to get used to any revision of a website, but so far I find it takes more clicks and a lot more scrolling to find what I want. As a result, I've bookmarked specific pages that I look at frequently (e.g., webcams and terrain status), because it's much quicker than going from the home page.

That's pretty bad, but not nearly as abysmal as Taos' new site.

Yeah ski areas have gotten pretty obsessed with making their websites more difficult to navigate in favor of having huge pictures and videos everywhere.

I just spent a good 5 minutes trying to figure out you have to click the "live" tab to see the snow report on Taos' site. wtf is that

the cams part can be hard to get to from certain devices, the summer/ winter option is directly in the way of clicking on the cams page from my laptop. works fine on my phone though.

I've struggled finding things on aspens site a couple of times recently

You know what’s really bad? A fucking 19” base and what, 50” on the season? Holy fucking shit.

Which is part of the reason why I'm finding time to post about websites... Yea, the snow situation sucks. This incoming storm isn't looking so great, but PLEASE let it be more than a few inches...

55" is what I could come up with

wait **navigates shitty new website to check cams** looks like its up to 55.5" now.

I think its funny the snow forecast says 3.15-5.15 inches expected.

I love how everyone gets all excited about El Niño/ La Niña. Fuck off, they both suck for us.

They've been opening Slalom too. Got a few laps in there this week. Opened lower Slalom yesterday even. I love how patrol has to tell everyone that there are rocks in there. Like no shit, it is the basin man, there's rocks everywhere!

got to do two laps on the face as part of some directed group skiing later this afternoon. a little bit variable in there but super fun and some areas that were actually really good. just made slower round turns and somehow managed to avoid hitting anything. was not expecting to be doing that today but a nice little christmas surprise for sure.

Conditions were surprisingly good today. So happy they managed to open significantly more runs than a couple weeks ago.

Happy Pali is running. I could avoid the turbo tikes that took my legs out from under me last time.

Just got this e-mail asking to book for summer activities: A Legendary summer awaits!

By any standard, that is incredibly early.

I just lapped it from about 9-10:30. Skiing great, few willows to navigate at bottom if you come from the Alleys side. Gut is skiing nice and could open it up more. Real nice morning out there, didn’t share a chair and warmer than Len side.

Second this. Whats open was skiing really well this morning. After this cycle it should be rope drop city.

PSA: If you prefer not to eat a bag of dicks, the antipasto platter at Il Refugio is pretty awesome and not expensive for what you get. The platter for "1-2 people" is $34 but is absolutely big enough to be lunch for 2 people. A $17 lunch of really good meats and cheeses and veggies would be a decent deal anywhere, but at the top of the mountain it's a smoking deal.

Why? When you're in Mexico and get incredible mexican food for dirt cheap, that doesn't mean that your favorite place back home sucks or is a terrible deal. A solid lunch on mountain in the United States for $17 isn't going to suddenly be a shitty deal because the same lunch is much better in Europe. It might make me pine for another trip to Europe, but that isn't going to make the $20 cheeseburger here any cheaper or better.

Is there a dickage fee if you bring your own bag of dicks to enjoy?
