Skied a few hours in the middle of the day Friday at “The Epic and Classic” Welch Village. Apart from a hs race taking place on Lookout, it was fairly empty. The bar is pretty low, but all things considered, the snow was the best it’s been this year- especially with all the snow guns going. High speed laps served only to remind me that running shape does not = tele ski shape and that I am one year older. I will prob head back down Sun or Mon with the little ripper in tow.

You should check out the Leg Blaster thread. It gets bumped every fall, and everyone posts in the thread how many leg blasters they do. It’s a great way to get motivated preseason while building up your legs. I did it this fall, still doing them now. They definitely helped me.

Yeah…. I thought carrying an extra 10# on my gut this winter would build up my leg strength… found out that it doesn’t work like that.

Trollhaugen has reduced hours to 10am till 4pm due to cold temps. That’s fine with me, that’s all I ski anyway.

Wild could be a shit-show in the afternoon on Friday. Ski club for Chisago has started, so after school time, there will be a healthy dose of teens/pre-teens and more shit laying on the ground than a race day. There's a chance I'll be out there later afternoon, and if so, can get a pair of cheap tickets (really cheap) anytime I'm there.

We'll be down at Welch on Sunday for a race, and holy shit, their ticket prices are trying to compete with Afton. I was originally going to ski, but $80 for a day where I'll spend half of it standing around watching the boys race, probably have to pass.

Same terrain as the rope, with technically 4 more runs. I got to ski them last night for a Patrol only preview and they are steep and fast.

Question for you: next week a prominent maggot will be passing through WI and wants to ski at either Christie Mountain or Trollhaugen. He is lurking in this thread if he wants to out himself. Anyway, our decision on where to ski could be greatly influenced by cheap/free tickets for he and I. Any help is appreciated. I think he will be on Heritage Lab 124s or some equally inappropriate ski. He should fit right in.
