I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

I'd expect PowMow to be "heaven on earth" tomorrow. Whyturn, if I get out I'll be in touch.

Plenty are at risk to wear the coveted fartbag downsuit. It gets really old reading the garbage spewed by some of you winey mofus ...oh wait; I gues that I am complaining about the complainers.

I'd still rather ski the wasatch than any other area in the CoUSA. Just be happy that you are not stuck in CO. or CA. I can't complain. I am an owner of both IKON and EPIC and think that it is the best bang for my buck.

Maybe next season we should have a new thread: "Bitch About The Wasatch"

    It’s a sufferfest daily.

    Only car in the lot.

    Only skier on the chair.

I skied Snowbird February of 72, three weeks after they opened.
Cottonwoods have some of the best skiing in the world. But they’re too close to a city and that’s something bitchin can’t fix.

Decided to go check out a certain gate this morning just west of paradise and was rewarded with a treat from SBSP. 6 laps later and there is still no green check. Get after it!

This pic was from lap 5 I believe. So damn good!!

Reporting Party from the Monte Cristo incident had a post up about it but it was taken down.

Thanks for the heads up Dshack.

8 lines of text, 2 out of 6 on the heuristic trap checklist. Not bad at all.
Dude needs to understand that he's not really making good decisions, it's just that the mountains have so far declined to provide feedback on these decisions.
I hated coming to terms with that fact but my odds of growing old have hopefully increased significantly since then.

I kept increasing my risk level and pushed it one time too many times 10 years ago. Spent the night outside and got lucky on SAR rescue

I like Cody’s risk structure. your risk tolerance should not change just cause you get away with it. Your risk tolerance should always be evaluated in the same way. Goal based is ok, but be willing to turn around based on your gut or group input. Ski with people with the same risk tolerance so group decisions are easier. It’s deep and sketchy out there….

It's one thing to risk your own well being but being above a road and busy infrastructure risking many other peoples well being for such trivial personal pursuits is a whole other sort of thing.

Not that I wasn't "that" guy many years ago but aging and maturity certainly changes the way we see the world. F I'm getting old.....

Wind and snow were working magic at the bird today. Free refills from opening until 3 and ski on lifts all day. 20 minutes up and 30 down. Perfect day!

Pretty unreal on the Alta side of things, too.
Skied pretty much every line between Jitterbug and Dougie's, ever one as good as the last.
Couple into W Alta, fair amount of sluffing and a little bit of cracking.

today definitely didn't suck, no crowds and untracked snow

maybe we should start a "wasatch bitch thread" for all the stokeless ass hats that just want to cunt this place up with complaints about how the world has, and will continue to, change.

love seeing what the Alta crew is getting up to, glad it's good for you too.

Amen. There are plenty of other social media sites for me to read people bitching. I come here for the community with other like minded people who have a pure love (addiction?) of sliding down mountains on planks of wood.

    IT'S THE SAME PICTURE

    LOLOLOL!

Was hoping I nailed the vibe.

Sorry for the bitching, I was grumpy yesterday. today more than made up for it. Hooked up with YukonRider and Marshall. Bird was practically deserted and deep. Refills in effect. Failed to pull out the camera, it was cold. I'll do better. Cheers everyone.

Gordon's talk was good. He was not amused by the monte Cristo incident.

He briefly spoke on the potential for this cycle to flush things out but didn't seem convinced and neither am I. Repeaters are my boogeyman
