The 193 BC110 on the mount table is what's keeping me up at night right now

Ok, I own Barney purple lotus 138s and had a blast touring on them last year. Buuutt at 6'6" 215# I feel like a touch more float would be nice, they can see-saw a bit for me. These are primarily my high danger day lower angle meadow skipping skis, but a more versatile and slightly lighter version might see even more use.

So, will the 200cm C132 float better than the lottii? Worth the hassle of replacing them?

The 200’s were basically invented for tall people such as yourself! I think you will find the 200 to have an awesome platform to move your weight around on and feel supported from, while still having that great blend of “open em up and let em run” as well as “make any turn you want in tight lines ”.

Very excited to get these on snow!

enginerd popped by my house last night, and I got a look at these. Very interesting rocker profile - rise starts just after the binding but is verrrrryyyyyyy slow to splay out. Total splay over that run is pretty low. Methinks this rocker profile will make it very stable for a full reverse ski with a slight reduction in pivotability (versus a rocker that has more overall splay). Compared to my reverse Intention 110s, these have a basically flat tail with very little upturn. Nerd-dude had very positive things to say from his half-day of skiing them inbounds, but I look forward to a full review.

I mounted mine on the recommended line. As a very directional skier, I feel like there is more than enough ski out in front of me to be driven. Before mounting, Marshal said -1 would be "full directional feel (race boots and stance)", but I'm happy I didn't go -1cm from the recommended line. Given the 35m sidecut, this ski seems to 'ski long' (IMO). Given my personal preferences, I typically scoff at the idea of mounting +1cm for a more pivoty/surfy ride, but this is a ski, now having skied it, that I would at least consider going +1cm on.

I have yet to get on my R120's this year, as the start to the winter has been slow, but below is what I wrote after a couple days on them last spring (2023):

R120 Comp Initial thoughts: I skied them half day this past Saturday and about 4 runs on Sunday. I wouldn't say spring corn is what the R120 is made for nor what I bought it for, but my excitement was too much. I mounted them on the recommended line with STH2 bindings.


I didn't detune them at all and haven't had any gripes. That said, I rarely detune any of my skis, unless I notice them feeling "hooky".


Very 1st run on them I transferred my weight to make a turn, thinking the outside ski would come around, it did not, and I fell face first. (This was my personal reminder that these skis have a 35m sidecut). After that 1st turn they were quite fun to ski in soft 3D corn. When carving these skis on groomed runs that by late afternoon had small 3D snow piles on them these skis felt like they were on rails. The tips deflected very little, if at all, when plowing through snow piles. I'd say these skis are significantly more stable at speed than my Ranger 107 Ti's, but do not carve quite as well. Then again, I wouldn't expect a 120mm underfoot ski to carve as well as a 107mm.The Ranger 107 Ti is my daily driver in Tahoe, so it is the ski I know best for making comparisons of feel. Carving through soft ungroomed crud I felt I could ski the R120 at dangerous speeds, like making 4 carved turns in 500 vertical feet.


When not carving, I found the R120 was actually pretty intuitive and not overly difficult to pickup the inside ski, transfer my weight, and make turns with. I like the lack to tip rocker and feel the snow contact point is right when making short radius turns.


I hand flexed these compared to a pair of brand new unmounted Ranger 107 Ti's that I have at home and the Ranger 107 Ti is definitely stiffer in hand. On snow they ski with similar stiffness, I think because the lack of tip rocker on the R120 and rearward mount point.

Thanks, I don't remember if I liked my short m103s at +1 but the long ones were a bit more fun mounted forward. It sounds like I should think about +1. Might have to stand on them and see which looks better or something. I'm not used to thinking about mount points too much.

I'm at -11(+1) on my regular cambered 192s and love them there. I was at -11 on my reverse cambered protos, and didn't love them - had to be more backseat/upright to engage the whole sidecut than I like, so drilled about sixteen new holes for the pair and took them back to -12(0-line).

Absolutely love them there. I'm probably moving the cambered ones back a cm,too, just to find out if they play even nicer there, but don't honestly believe that they will. Super cool skis. Such a nimble ski for what they are; 35m chargers. And absolutely, in my head, LP105 killers,as someone else put it.

Proud co-dad for sure.

I have a pair of the R120s in the AM 50/50 build, mounted at +1. My other skis are a 184 Atris mounted on the line for inbounds and a 183 Corvus Freebird mounted +1 for touring. I had purchased the Corvus FB used and the difference in BSL from the previous owner put me at -.5 behind the line, and I found them a bit difficult to ski. Remounted the toes forward a bit (to sorta mimic the Atris mount point) and now I love them. I get it, neither of those are the R120s... but those experiences shaped how I approached talking with Marshal about the R120. He recommended the +1 mount and I'm super happy with how they ski. I'm not a forward leaning on-the-shins "charger" kind of skier, and the mount point seems to work well for my stance/style/lack of style/whatever. And I have found this ski has greatly encouraged me to find the fall line, quite confidence inspiring. I'm sure you can find more info and nerding out in a dedicated thread, if there is one?

Yes, Arild is right, I was wrong, R120 does have a 30m sidecut radius, not 35m.
