south facing in BCC doesnt suck anymore.

Nice to see the sun today...Winds/temps weren't too bad...fast powder no wallow. Saw those big slides off Reynolds impressive from our vantage point. Also some mega slides in Butler Basin, and Big Water. FYI Butler lot still wasn't plowed on our drive down at 3.

The lift lines were painful and never really let up all day. But the skiing was so good it was worth it. Hopefully patrollers can get some rest for a few days now.

Think I might've been behind you on the way up the Cone this afternoon from Beartrap. Appreciate the heavy lifting if so.

Funny, that guy got in a pissing match with me last week after I called him out for spamming someone's post looking for renters with his own cheaper rental. Gem of a human.

I was very surprised at just how crowded The Bird was today. We arrived at 9:30 and all the lots were full. $40 to park at The Cliff on a Tuesday. No Cirque. No RTP, no Mineral. No upper Tiger Tail. Sure was a pretty bluebird day though with good snow.

Zero lift lines at Snowbasin today. Nice chalky snow and the top of Strawberry was as good as I’ve seen it in a while…maybe because I’m usually here in the spring.

I too got caught out by the crowd at Snowbird today. Tuesday non-holiday WTF. Crowds of Ikoners. Convinced the gal at the Gad Valley pay lot to let me in, so $30 at around 10:30. The lack of terrain was very disappointing. I get that they're dealing with a unique problem up there. We had to leave by two and I got the alert that Peruvian opened at about 2:30 with the Cirque. At least they're gonna get some skiers on the terrain before the storm tomorrow. I'll be back up there to get some.

Been a few years since I've done it but seriously considering an Alta upgrade for next year.

I dunno, today was super fun, I thought (as a single, just causally working my way forward in lineups full of 2's and 3's).
But if yer out tomorrow, hit me up for a few laps!!

Yeah lift lines weren't crazy long but still like I said then limited terrain was disappointing. I'll hit you up tomorrow for sure!

In other news, we saw a big slide rumble down from Monte Christo at about 11:30. UAC's Insta story says skier triggered but no further info anywhere so I guess everyone's OK, hopefully that the case anyway.

Some bold tracks IMO on Superior and other shots across the canyon.

I missed that one, have to look for it.

I did see on the 'gram, 2 slides that hit SR190 and big enough to block traffic and a car was stuck in between them. Apparently there were enough people with shovels to get traffic moving again. Crazy times.

One of the suicide chute aficionados is a guy I used to work with. Tagged little Sup and what looks like more from the gram. Dude's a crusher for sure but man, there's a lot of really bad decision making going on (from my armchairing). The millcreek one is insane. Waiting for the write up on Monte Christo.

fyi there is no more alta upgrade. The altabird pass is now the alta and bird pass. It cost the exact same if you were to buy a full bird pass and a full alta pass. Not a fucking penny discount.

I wonder what they decided NOT to ski and dial it back to ski Monte Christo. (I'd like to think they were about to Superior and remote triggered MC, but still wtf)

By my count from UAC reported avys... apx. 150 avalanches reported since Jan 5th in the Wasatch. 2 full burials, multiple catch and carries.

I can see people deciding to hit S. Superior and Lil Sup today given they did some control work on it but man.... still, pop one wind slab up there and youre going for a looooooong ride. IDK still pretty risky IMO.

They are aspiring to the euro pro dream of dying in an avalanche within earshot of a chairlift to get them tracksssss. Except their version of pro skiing is getting proforms

Doesn't mention anything about downclimbing the ridge, so I assume they proceeded to descend the south face? JFC.

This is how Superior gets permanently closed.
